Trade deadline discussion

I'm just so ready for the Jordan Clarkson experience to be over.

I am ready to trade Clarkson too but I can hardly blame him for Ingles' poor form. Ingles needs to assert himself and demand the ball if he is going to run his PnRs, shoot his open shots and play some defense. Ingles doesn't need to coddled. He isn't a delicate flower.

It feels a little like Joe is coasting to the finish line. With the frustration of JC and Don when they're in full iso mode (with coaches blessing) maybe it's understandable.

LMAO. No one is saying he needs to be coddled. I think Quin taking the ball out of Clarkson's hands a little more often by running a few more pick and rolls for Joe every game would both help Joe get going and help the team. There's no reason to give our most inefficient offensive player so many possessions.

Yeah if Joe is lost in the shuffle there is a guy that might be the one that could make changes to adjust that... who's area of responsibility would that be?

Last night if they are just switching there isn't a lot Joe can do.

I don't want to blame the coach because its complex... it just feels like we should be able to cook switching defenses and have a better answer for small ball 5 out **** by now. This isn't at all a new issue. We have gotten better I guess but just letting guys take turns going one-on-one seems kinda lazy.

I’m probably going to pissed with any major-ish move. We’ll get the same ******** because Quin is still the largest variable in the equation, and then we’ll get “let’s give Quin a full season with _____ before we make any judgements. It’s not reasonable to integrate in that big of a piece during the season.” Then offer up some platitudes on stuff like “it took Mike Conley a year to adjust and now look he’s really good!”

Quin is the guy who keeps promising you that he’s going to get your money, and next time you see him he swears he’ll really have it that time.

He’s the same type of idiot as Nick Sirianni. Reagor is God awful to anyone with eyes in every facet of the game and shouldn’t see the field.

For the Jazz, when something clearly doesn’t work, change it. Speak to the players like men and explain potential changes in upcoming games and why. Have it make sense to them. It’s not tough. What’s the worst that happens? A mutiny and firing? Who gives a ****? You’ll know you coached the right way for the right end result.

It's just my frustration with him. He passes open shots and doesn't call for PnRs and passes out immediately. It happens every season, start Joe so he can play better, bring him a PnR buddy, don't play him with Clarkson, don't play him against switches, don't let him guard quicker guards, and it goes on and on. Some of it is acceptable but it gets too much at some point.

Sure Quin can cut Clarkson's usage but I doubt those possessions go to Ingles because he looks lethargic and uninterested out there.

I am just as ready to trade him as I am with Clarkson.

Sure, I wouldn't want to play with Clarkson either but at some point you can't pass up possessions and expect to get them back whenever it suits you. Ingles does lots of camping and deferring to sulk.

If Detroit and NO don't have interest in JC we are in trouble.... assuming we want to move on.

Not a lot of great trade matches.

REPORT: The Pistons made a trade offer of Jerami Grant, Saddiq Bey, Kelly Olynyk and a 1st-round pick to the 76ers for Ben Simmons, via B/R.

The 76ers were not excited about the offer.

It is quite possible that the 76ers over-value Ben Simmons a great deal.

I know they want a star but that isn't a bad package. If the first is this year or next I'd prolly take it.

Tim McMahon talking with Spence today... mentioned Kenrich Williams... I'd be happy with that acquisition.

I would be happy with that too. Did he say if the Jazz have interest in him or is he just someone he thinks they should go after?

He kinda just threw the name out there and said there were rumors (not that he was coming our way but that he's available). Didn't think it would take too much.

Andy’s deal, please. Also, could we fire the FO and sign Andy? He may actually be pretty good.
Maybe he heard a rumor on it... Would be a pretty good move from both sides tbh. OKC has a lot of draft capital so improving the quality of a pick they own should have value.

I still can't believe we didn't steal him in the Favs deal. I really don't think that would have held things up.

Morey will probably hold Simmons until right before the deadline, why wouldn't he, it's the smart thing to do, any trade available to him now would be available to him then and there are a lot of desperate, underperforming teams that might decide to make a radical change--and I think the league is basically on hold until that trade manifests itself. If we make a trade i think it'll be right before the deadline, the league is probably gridlocked until the big trade goes down.

Wtf???? You need to miss on Grant for Ingles? For Bogey?
For Rudy to work on offense, you got to have a premier floor spacer to provide space. Bogey has to stay unless we have a true roster teardown.

I just don't want to trade Joe. Call me sentimental. For me, our best trade piece is Conley. If we do trade Conley, I think Joe gets more of the ball.

A 6 man rotation of Don, Rudy, Bogey, Royce, Grant and Joe is a contender.

Tomorrow could be a big night for Jared Butler with Donovan out... a couple good games can really inflate a young players value... add in his pedigree and pre-season performance and a couple good games could really give him a boost.

Of course we likely just play Forrest and Jazz media gets super excited about his 3 point 5 rebound performance in 27 minutes.
