I found this interesting. The RAADS-R is a diagnostic test for autism. It is a questionnaire that looks at different aspects of autism and gives a score that shows your propensity to be on the spectrum.

Here is my test:

Here is the scoring system. Higher means greater likelihood of autistic traits. Lower than the threshold means highly unlikely to be on the spectrum.

A lot of the questions are about what or how other people think of me. How am I supposed to know this and why do I care? I quit after 50 questions.

No they really aren't, but interesting you interpreted it that way. They are trying to get at what you may have perceived others saying or talking about you. But hey, you stopped 30 questions short, could have just finished.

But on a deeper level are you saying that since it asks for you to comment on what other people think of you, then you surmise the test is not valid or does not yield valid results? Often our perceptions of what others think of us is more telling than what they actually do think of us, or what we think of ourselves. That is a big part of diagnosing narcissistic personality disorder, by analyzing what we think others think of us.

Circumscribed interests. I first read this as circumcised and thought, "what the hell?!?"
I first read "Social Relatedness" as "Social Retardedness".

I also found that many of the questions require more nuance than the options given. For example the very first question, "I am a sympathetic person."

Did someone get drunk and hit a phone pole? No, I am not sympathetic. They were a dumbass. Does someone I know have cancer? I am highly sympathetic.

This leads me to question 9, "I focus on details rather than the overall idea" which I guess for me would be "True now and when I was young" because details matter.

Who knows, maybe I am autistic. At 50+ years old, who cares at this point?

I think you are fully getting stuck in question 9, lol.

Exactly, a flawed test that will identify cases of extreme autism on one end and those without on the other, without helping to identify those that may be on the border.
