Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

One thing that seems certain is that the Jazz can't afford Juancho's contract as it is currently configured. They have a guarantee date coming up at the end of June and he will be traded or cut before then. If he's cut they might try and sign him at a lesser price. Being in the luxury tax does tend to tie your hands at times.

Random trade idea... Some felt my Conley to Washington deal was not fair at all... so a take off of that deal...

Utah out - Mike Conley, NAW
Utah in - KCP and Terrence Ross, #56 pick

Orlando out - Ross
Orlando in - NAW and Rui

Washington out - KCP and Rui, #56
Washington in - Conley

Saves us some money. Gets us some wings... we pray both guys kill it in contract years. Worst case scenario we have cleared the cap for next offseason. If it all goes to hell we could regift KCP and Ross to another team at the deadline.

I could see us just keeping Rui. I think he is far more available than Deni. I just don't think he's a winning player... still a project. Orlando is still in development mode... Rui will pull in a bunch of fans to an empty arena. NAW is salary filler (again).
The wizards would never make that trade but if they would then there is no reason to involve the magic. Rui and KCP for Conley would be awesome.

I think this could work...

Utah Trades: Gobert
Utah Receives: Capella, Hunter, #7

Atlanta Trades: Capella, Collins, Hunter, #16
Atlanta Receives: Gobert, Barnes

Sacto Trades: Barnes, #7
Sacto Receives: Collins, #16
Nice, but I would make it Sac gets Capela and we get Collins and #16 instead. So...

Utah gets Collins, Hunter and #16

Atlanta gets Rudy and Barnes

Sacramento gets Capela

Harrison Barnes is NOT a SF. Can't see a trade with Hunter involved without replacing him with a big wing who can defend big wings. No tweener forwards who can't defend the wing or bigger guards.

If Atlanta has Rudy and Barnes, you could go Trae, Bogdon, Huerter, Barnes and Rudy. That's a really good team.

You could trade Gallinari for a bit since he's got a non-guaranteed contract. Yes, Atlanta needs wing help, but that's a really good starting unit.

Kings move up to #4. Unless they make

Sacramento has Sabonis and still has Holmes. They don't want Capela. Sacramento also just moved up in the lottery, so this idea is moot.

There is some possibility that the Kings would make a trade offer for Mitchell involving the #4 pick.

Blazers fans want to trade #7 for a win-now guy.

I think the most likely Gobert trade scenarios involve Gobert ending up in Atlanta, Charlotte or maybe Washington.

If San Antonio were motivated enough, they could trade for Gobert with Poeltl, Z. Collins, J. Richardson, Vassell and #9.

I think there's an outside chance the Kings would discuss #4 in a deal for Donovan. They want to win now.

The Jazz are down an assistant coach. A couple of names have bubbled up in the past day. It sounds like Horney and the Rockets are cutting ties. Also the Weber State head coach abruptly retired yesterday. He recruited Dame and Bolomboy and Dame thinks the world of him. Both are interesting possibilities and might lead to some players wanting to come here maybe encouraging a trade. Former Weber State head coaches have enjoyed success in the NBA.
