Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Trading Don for Randle and pieces and picks doesn't make sense.

Does Randle fit next to Rudy?
Are we flipping Randle?

Just don't see the logic for either side.

Tony also said that he thinks Royce is very moveable, but he doesn't think the Jazz could get a first for him.
From Tony's mouth to God's ears; this is the best news we've heard in years. Unless he's speaking purely on his belief of teams moving for him and not speaking to the FO seeing him as movable.

Probably the most replaceable skill set… also his deal can get us out of the tax… also it’s a Donovan test. If we trade Royce does he get pissy and make a trade demand. Wonder if Royce pissed Donovan off so now he’s tradeable.

Trading Royce for nothing is stupid. He's not the reason we struggle. His contract isn't bad.

Make trades that make substantial change. Trading a role player to save money to hope an undrafted role player replaces him is so dumb.

I think he mostly meant that he think's teams would be interested in him and that it wouldn't be hard for the front office to move him if they decided to do so.

Draft picks. That's the logic.

Then you just tank with Randle. Not like he wins basketball games.
The trick with tanking right is to not also tank the culture. Randle would tank the culture and be around for the length of his contract short of the Jazz asking him to stay away.

I can sell myself on a negative value contract, but only to a certain point. Randle is just trash top to bottom.

Yeah, I wouldnt be super high on doing the deal.

I mean if you can get House for league minimum and he is better or at very least as good as Royce then you are totally smart for paying Royce 9M right?

The dumb reality is we aren't going to pay the tax next year. Book it. So Royce is the easiest player to move that will get you something and likely take some money off the books.

Not saying you can always find a House but plenty of years these guys are available for peanuts if you are looking for them and are aggressive.

Yuta, house, Hernangomez are all going to be minimum dudes…

We can likely get a Martin twin for the minimum or BAE.

There are guys like Amir Coffey, maybe PJ Dozier is healthy… Taurean Prince may be a minimum guy. Davon Reed will be a minimum guy.

One deal I’ve thought about is Royce to Sacramento for Holiday and their late second round pick. I’m not sure why they’d do it but saves 4M for us next year when you factor in the lower salary for the second round player.

I think you could also just dump him into someone’s cap space and use BAE to sign his replacement. Coming all the way out of the tax would save like 20M+ when you factor in the payment from the league…

I can name a bunch of guys in languishing in the GLeague that are as good as or better than Royce. Royce won the lottery because DL was GM at the time.

Would they really risk pissing off Donovan tho?

That roster has many more problems than Westbrook but blaming just Vogel is a mutated version of an ostrich burying its 4 heads with like 5 eyes each in the sand.
I feel like you've never seen a picture of an ostrich...

D.Robinson + #27 + #55 + one future second for Bogey

Heat gets rid of a bad contact in exchange for a valuable expiring and a better player who will be in the rotation to help them with one more championship push. Robinson fell out of spoelstra's rotation, Bogey will be in the rotation and fits Butler/Lowry's timeline.

Jazz gets DA PICKs, gets younger(Robinson is 5 yr younger than Bogey) and a guy who fits DA SYsTeM(basically a more speedy version of Niang)

My version of this trade was better… get gave or Strus too. The Duncan contract is terrible… bogey is n upgrade and gives them some salary flexibility which they will desperately need.

You know….I really think I’m good at this point. Not saying I won’t post here, but I’m done with Jazz stuff for the most part until Donovan is off the team. There’s very little to look forward to at this point. I’ll take a renewed version when it gets here.

Being able to move off Royce’s money and replacing his value with a minimum guy (and no longer being obligated to allot 30+ minutes in that direction) would be a huge boon and save a lot of money. It would look a lot better if we hadn’t short-sightedly volunteered to have NAW’s $5M price tag dumped on us.
