Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I’m good with picking up Ayton in a Donovan move.

1) Won’t win us games by himself
2) Quality piece to build around in the future
3) Good young player we can rehab value for + flip for draft capital in a millisecond

Consistent with Commander Singe’s tank brigade.

This guy isn't a hack. He apparently scooped Chris Paul to PHX before anyone else did.

Jazz are going to ask for the moon to move Mitchell and also facilitate KD to PHX.

Jazz have trade offers for Donovan from the Heat and Knicks at least. If the Jazz pursue this, it must be even better.

Ainge is trying to take advantage of a distressed situation. BRK wants off of KD and Kyrie. Jazz can offer a bright young All Star signed for 3 years, from NY no less.

This could get big.

Why would we take back Ayton if we’re not keeping Mitchell?

He's a nice asset available for a discounted price due to the BYC rule. Jazz can make a profit on him. That's why.

There was already a report earlier today saying the Jazz expressed interest in a sign-and-trade for Ayton after the Gobert trade. So this is consistent.

What other assets do Phoenix and New Jersey have that makes this worth it for us? Ayton has upside and is young. But that's not worth Mitchell. It needs to be a decent amount more.

Mikal Bridges. Some picks....

My personal opinion is that the idea of building a team around a 37 y.o. Chris Paul and a 34 y.o. Kevin Durant, both of whom are going to miss games for injuries and load management, is actually not a good idea. The Suns don't have much depth to begin with, and they'll lose Ayton, Bridges and draft capital in this transaction, which won't help.

This could easily blow up in the Suns' faces just like it did for the Lakers this year. I think Ainge can smell it.

I think there's some rule against the nets having both DM and Simmons on the same team. Like a serious restriction on having both of their contracts on one team. Heard Bobby Marks talking about it on ESPN last night
Yeah they can't trade for Bam, Don, etc while keeping Simmons.

Correct. A team cannot have two "Designated Players" acquired by trade. Ben Simmons would need to be moved if BRK trades for Mitchell.

The same issue would apply to Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Dearon Fox, and several others.

I'll be so happy if we get Ben/Ayton to start the rebuild.
