It makes you wonder, what if the Jazz hadn’t traded Rudy. Would we have had enough to get Durant? DM, Butler, whatever picks we had, etc.. Isn’t that kind of what the Nets are asking for now? And seriously, why did the O’neale trade happen at the same time as KD’s trade request?

So picture it, Durant in Utah. For 4 years. With Rudy. Wow.

Gobert
Durant
Bogdanovic
O’neale
Conley

Suddenly Gobert’s playoff limitations don’t seem quite as drastic when you’ve got Kevin freaking Durant on the court with you.

And then there’s KD’s legacy (he doesn’t have one), but man would he become a legend if he brought a chip to Utah. In fact, Utah may have been the perfect place for him personally. He belongs in a small market. He gets too involved with media, etc. He could have been our Duncan. Instead he’s probably heading to Toronto or Phoenix. Missed opportunity?

Had a similar thought. Conley may have lost a step but as a facilitating PG with a KD and PnR with Rudy it would have worked great. I doubt KD would play in Utah but fun to think about. He and Rudy together would be good.

I’m terms of what those five players can do, they’re strengths and weaknesses, it’s kind of a perfect team. Everyone would play their role. And more importantly, the ball gets PASSED around.

That team doesn't even sniff a championship next year and at that point you have to completely tear it down again.

The NBA Finals and Western Conference Finals.

He’s a tremendous player. But this wasn’t gonna happen, mostly because it appears Don’s trade value isn’t actually amazing.
The Nets are you reportedly want Don, Bam, Ingram, or Barnes.

Right, as they should. The other part is the Simmons complication. The other part is KD apparently has to want to be somewhere. And the Jazz would have to put themselves in a crazy bad pick situation.

But sure.

We didn’t have the draft capital to do a trade like this when Gobert was here. We do now. KD didn’t need a Stifle Tower in Golden State just Draymond. Psst, we have our Draymond in Vanderbilt! Ostensibly all it would take is Donny Boy, Beasley and four of the firsts we picked up. Course I’d rather give up Beverly than Beasley but they probably wouldn’t go for that. Title City Baby!

You'd have to be delusional to believe this guy would stay in Utah for 4 years. He'd force his way out by the first trade deadline. There are some players that just aren't realistic options for the Jazz.

My Warriors-fan brother picked up rumors of KD to GSW in a package including Kuminga, Wiggins, Wiseman and Poole. He (my brother) wants loads of picks going their way, I think reality is they would go to BKN, but I guess it's just a no-starter. I think Nets will have to run it back with KD, Kyrie, Simmons (and Royce!) and see if they can make it work.

Don't think KD will go to GSW
Sounds like he burned all his bridges there
Yeah, don't think so either. I don't see how on earth Nets get what they're looking for. I think they will roll back with KD, Kyrie and Simmons next year, tbh.
