Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

I think there are lots of shenanigans we can pull with Don/CAA and the Knicks.

Donovan we’d love to send you home but they are just low balling us… Riley will basically give us everything he can… why does CAA want you in NY so bad Is that what is best for your career. How much do they really value you if they are risking not getting you because of a couple picks in 27/29… Riley was like **** those picks.

See if you can create some distrust with Don/CAA and get CAA to go to the Knicks and be like “dude can y’all pay up already we are about to lose our client”. Agencies get fired real easy and it maybe we can use the CAA ties to hurt them a bit.

I’m cool playing this out until the fall too… the later they get Don the worst they will be.

Please email this to Danny Ainge.

Donovan is gonna go to the Knicks. All that matters now are the fine tuned details -

- What 5 picks?

and

- What players? My guess is Fournier, Grimes, Reddish and McBride.
Should hold out for Toppin as well.

Reddish could be an interesting tank commander. Not that it’s a large enough sample size, but during the 7 games he started last year in Atlanta he scored 18.4 points per game and shot 39% from three - there’s certainly some potential for a breakout season.

We better not settle. Sit Mitchell the whole year with an “injury” if we have to to preserve the tank. But don’t settle. Or trade everyone else (Conley, Bogey, Beverley, Clarkson) and sit him every 4th or 5th game. But the tank should be a priority.

Also, and I’m not sure this has been said but having eight 1sts in one draft isn’t ideal. Right now we have three in 2023. I’d strongly consider taking New York’s but not Dallas’s and instead get a 2025 1st, 27 and 29 (that’s only three 1sts) with very minimal protections as well as 1-2 pick swaps AND the 2024 2nd from Detroit (should be top 35-37) and Detroit’s 2025 2nd as well. Those are really solid picks that could be almost as good as say a Miami 1st.

Hard to see us getting all the picks we want and the young players we want.

I'm trying to remember the last time Ainge "settled," and nothing is coming to mind.

So can anyone vouch for PK not being a hack?

I have a haircut today in 3 hours, I guarantee Mitchell gets traded during that time.

You don't keep all the picks. You move them for different drafts and players.
