Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Curious if Orlando makes a play for Donovan. They have the necessary picks and expiring/non-guaranteed deals. Does someone like Don move the needle for them?
They're a team that I can theoretically (at least in my own mind) construct a good argument for them to be interested.

They could put together a nice package (with Suggs, maybe Isaac, etc.) along with picks, and still have a lot left. It would make some sense for Banchero to not have a situation where all the offensive creation is put on him immediately (which I think it will at this point), and it would be good for Donovan over the long haul (I think) to have a great offensive talent like Banchero alongside of him. A lineup of Fultz, DM, Wagner, Banchero, Carter/Bamba at least sounds workable as a start to a good long-term plan.

But on the other hand, I'm not surprised at all that they've shown no inclination to try to hurry the process up by pushing for a DM trade. That's a defensible position as well.

I don't know if Ja Morant is that much better than Mitchell, but otherwise I agree as well.
yeh i think Morant isn't better, mitchell can shoot 3s, but morant cannot...BUT....i wonder how DM will do on thje knicks without a defensive anchor in the back court covering for his lazy d?

Know what I want from Knicks.
2023 1st (top 7 protected)
Dallas 2023 1st
2025 1st (top 6 protected)
2031 1st
Detroit 2024 2nd
Detroit 2025 2nd
Fournier (filler), Toppin, Grimes, McBride

They get Mitchell, Butler (stinks) and some other scrub.

If they balk, take out the 2031 one.

These guys are reporting the same thing I heard and tried to tell you all last week. Was reaffirmed yesterday. The only thing I know about the return is that we are going to be extremely happy. The player haul sucks, the pick haul is fantastic.
You have 24 hours to get this announced.

When is it going down? The player haul sucks? As in we are getting Toppin and that’s it or Grimes and that’s it? Plus how many picks are we talking? Give us a little something extra please!

The New York Knickerbockers.
It's for sure going to happen. Can't turn back now. NY is the only team with the draft capital and incentive to do the trade how Ainge wants it.

The question will be - how many picks do we get in this trade that end up being in the top 10?
