Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

The Jazz should do that trade if they get it and the LAL picks are unprotected.
Yep.

If we are trying to lose next year, trading Conley, Bojan and Gay for Westbrook and picks is brilliant.

Hell, I might even consider one unprotected pick and a number of 2nd rounders if we could shed the $30 million Conley and Gay are owed for 2023-24.

Wow. Imagine upgrading Jaylen Brown to KD alongside Tatum with Smart in the mix. Could be epic.
Yeah and I get the pushback from some celtics fans but Brown may not even stay there and windows are shorter than you think. I think that’s push em over the top.

It’s one of the reasons I wanted to rebuild. Those picks are out there and we’d have a good chance to get them with the vet pieces we have… add that to bevy of picks we get in the Rudy and Don trades and we are locked and loaded.

And next year, Westbrook's money is off the books and there will be 2 more picks to get from another desperate team that needs to dump bad salary.

Yeah they become instant favorites, or at least match the Warriors in that regard. Would be really interesting to see a Warriors/Celtics finals with KD in the mix against the Warriors. I would never have cheered for another team as hard as I would the Warriors in that scenario. Would LOVE to see KD get knocked down that notch like that.

If Donovan gets traded to NY, and Brown gets traded to Brooklyn, I predict that Jaylen Brown will be playing for the NY Knicks in 2025.

KD to Boston maybe gets Miami back in the hunt for Donovan.
I think Miami would love to get him. Unless we like Herro or find someone to give us good draft capital for him they don’t have the goods. There are a few of us that think the Miami trade package is solid and like Herro… myself @Elizah Huge … but I think it’s the plan B if NY really won’t give up the goods.

Hornets are apparently considering options to pair with Melo. Donovan? Kemba? Hmm.

Shams is having a slow month if he thinks that’s breaking news.

Hornets don’t have the goods for a Don trade because their pick situation is tough to navigate. Kemba would sell some tickets and both IT and Kemba are cheap bench options. The Bridges situation and their ****** offseason this far are likely to have them taking a step back imo.

The problem isn't so much that Miami is distracted by KD (even though that's probably true), it's that Miami doesn't have a good offer for what we have going on now. A Herro-centered package might have been more interesting if we had kept Gobert, but given that our direction now seems to be total tanking, it makes much less sense. It would be "at least something" and maybe the best we can do if we're 100% committed to moving DM, but it's certainly not what I'd prefer.

KD to Boston pushes Miami to put all the chips down on getting Donovan. If they don’t get a player like Donovan then that closes their window and I think they know that.

So ima hope Boston actually pulls it off.

SI has really gone downhill. Well, that have for years, but that doesn't really help. It's just not a good article.

As for the Jazz, trading Mitchell could create a drought heretofore never experienced in Utah. Jazz Nation has to be wondering why the organization is so eager to trade Mitchell.

It seems Utah is in a pretty good place with its current available draft picks and salary cap space. Mitchell is a player you can build around and the Jazz could at least begin the season with some stability.

Mitchell's stock should not decrease as he in the prime of his career with plenty of NBA player growth at his disposal. If a trade is completed between the Jazz and Knicks regarding Mitchell, Utah will surely receive more draft picks, and that's great.

But at some point, the Jazz will have to get ready for the NBA season and the long war of attrition that it is. With Mitchell, you have an NBA All-Star to help win those battles.

If Mitchell is traded, when would Utah ink its next NBA All-Star? This is why a Mitchell trade between the Jazz and Kicks helps nothing for either team.

That guy is an idiot. He is advocating for running borderline play-in team for years, with never a chance at a high draft pick, and wasting Mitchell's prime years, because....reasons?? This is the cleanest break we can get the best re-boot we can hope for. Keeping Mitchell will doom us to be in the middle of the road on the mediocrity treadmill unless we are lucky enough to nab a 2nd borderline all-star with the 14th pick in the draft somehow to pair with him, and even then we would have a year or 2 of 6-8 seeding before Mitchell's asks out anyway. That guy is a moron.

All their chips still isnt enough chips.

What I had heard was Charlotte was one of a couple of teams Miami had told Utah they were trying to work with to make a trade work to get Utah extra pics. FWIW, I heard again that Miami is still very much in the mix.

May have been a Herro deal? Lowry? I think Miami, NY, Toronto are the current viable suitors.

With Keegan Murrays SL performance, you have to rank him as a much better prospect than Toppin/Grimes/Quickley.

If the Kings give up Barnes/Murray/Mitchell/2026/2028 unprotected 1st that might be better than a Knicks package if it's a lot of protected 1st.

You could also flip Barnes for a 1st from a playoff team I would assume.
