Ochai- What do we think?

Danny Green +
This is probably the best outcome. A more savvy scoring Danny Green, if Ochai can develop the same on the defensive front. Could be a great 3&D glue guy kind of player that goes nuclear now and then to even out the scoring load.

He plays with a lot composure for a rookie, and has a sweet stroke. I've been impressed by his drive by's on some of the guys that over contest on the three. He seems to make the right decision more times than not.

I don’t know if this bigger role will stick….but one thing I’m happy with is that we can confirm he’s going to be a good shooter at the NBA level. You can say “DUH” based on his college shooting in his senior year, but it doesn’t always work out that way. I’m pleasantly surprised with his play.

Defensively I think he can still get better. He will improve with time, but I wish he was a little more active. Get more rebounds, steals, deflections etc. But he’ll at least be a solid on ball defender with time I think. What makes Danny Green special is outstanding defensive plays king, Ochai doesn’t really offer that.

He reminds me of Gary “Gary” Harris before he was perma injured and could shoot.

Always loved Ochai. I remember saying he should be getting playing time (back when he wasn't) and posters telling me that he shouldn't because of evidence from the g-league and garbage time saying he isn't good.

Maybe if he got time when you wanted to he would have been garbage and he would have killed his own confidence with bad play.

This is the basis of Will's developmental philosophy

I think we can definitely give Will Hardy and his staff the benefit of the doubt when it comes to player development. We’ve seen huge improvements in Markkanen, Kessler, Agbaji, THT and even Sexton (pre-injury) and Fontecchio (in limited minutes).

I’m not sure I’ve seen anything like it. It’s bananas.

I TLDR this whole thread, but has anyone brought up ole boy needs to rebound way better?
