2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

So far, rally.
Its a critical stretch for them to see what they look like without Trae. I'm sure they weren't crying too hard. I also think they play it completely straight as there is not really a huge benefit to trying to sink from 11/12 down. Big game on Tuesday.

This next game against the Hawks would be a great one to lose from a draft-positioning standpoint.
5 games against Houston and Atlanta from now until the season end. Those games will be hugely important in determining where we land. 1-4 or 0-5 and I think we are good. Do well in those games and we are headed for the darkest timeline.

Here's some current Buzelis footage. He's long, but otherwise not much of a defensive presence. Offensive players can get by him, or often just go through him. Shooting ought to come around you'd think. He's trying to self-create and isn't always able to do it at this level. Handle and passing are encouraging.

I love what I am seeing from him. He is doing a really good job of moving his feet and I love the way he utilizes his triple threat stance. The skillset is there to be really good and I can't imagine he makes it out of the top 5 when it's all said and done.

Matas just doesnt do a lot for me.

If the shot isnt good, he's not going to be good IMO. Shooting 30% w/ 65% from the FT line isnt great.

Good athlete with the ball in his hands, but if he can't shoot he's going to be pretty easy to guard.

Probably going to be in the 10-16 range for me.

I know why people compare Matas to Franz lol….but I don’t see them as very similar. Franz is a very good defensive player and that’s what I think of first with him. We tend to make mountains out of mole hills with comparisons, myself included. No two players are exactly the same so who really cares. But if a player’s greatest strength is another’s weakness I think that’s when we start to question things.

Here's a question as to how the two way guys fare versus this upcoming draft. I believe the Jazz have to fish or cut bait after this season with both Potter and Juzang and Preston has been putting up a triple dpuble every night it seems.

If the Jazz believe in Preston as a backup PG, then maybe that causes the Jazz to pass on a guy like Proctor. But otherwise, no one in the G-league is likely to affect the Jazz's personnel decisions.
