The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

“The people who know Trump best won’t support him. Why should you?”

Former Attorney General Bill Barr called Trump “a consummate narcissist” who “constantly engages in reckless conduct”

Dictators like Russia’s Vladimir Putin think Trump is “a laughing fool and they’re fully prepared to take advantage of him,” said former National Security Adviser John Bolton in other footage.

Former Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin called Trump “unfit” for office again, a claim echoed by former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham who said she was “terrified” of his 2024 campaign.

Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, warned Trump puts the American military in danger.

Trump’s own Vice President Mike Pence’s refusal to endorse Trump is also highlighted.

And former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci’s condemnation of Trump as a “domestic terrorist” is mentioned too.

Criticism also came from former Defense Secretary John Mattis, former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, former Joint Chiefs of Staff chair Mark Milley, former White House chiefs of staff Mick Mulvaney and John Kelly, former Secretaries of State Mike Pompeo and Rex Tillerson, former Navy Secretary Richard Spencer, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and former Defense Secretary Mark Esper.

From the comments section: I always knew that Trump voters would not listen to a democrat telling them the obvious... but I honestly thought they might start listening to former Trump loyalists (fellow Republicans). I was wrong... because that's how cults work. Anyone who stands up to the cult leader is ostracized, banished, vilified ruined. We keep waiting for Trump to do something we think that nobody in their right mind would be ok with, then the problem would solve itself... but that doesn't happen. The lower Trump sinks in his depravity, the lower they set the bar, the more excuses they make, the more denials they come up with. It's maddening.. it's exhausting

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) finally found some common ground with Democrats.

“Our Republican majority is a complete failure,” she wrote on X

“Tomorrow Speaker Johnson is funding the government that has created this invasion,” she wrote. “I’m voting NO! SHUT IT DOWN!”

Republicans had a chance to pass a bipartisan border bill that included funding for many conservative priorities, but turned against it when ordered to do so by Donald Trump, who didn’t want to give President Joe Biden a legislative victory ahead of this year’s election.

“What does a Chinese foreign agent, Russian disinformation and a felon in jail have in common? James Comer,” said Moskowitz of Comer.

The dig is a nod to Gal Luft, who Comer touted as a whistleblower in the Biden family probe and who officials alleged to have acted as an unregistered foreign agent for the Chinese government.

It also refers to ex-FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who was charged with lying about his Biden bribe claims, and Jason Galanis, who testified to the committee remotely while serving a 14-year prison sentence for fraud schemes.

But dude, do you remember how cheap gas was though? I didn't get to buy a lot of it because the entire world had shut down, so I didn't drive much, but I'm pretty sure the reason it was so cheap was because Trump did a deal or something. Did you know he is a businessman?

Mr Pence has acknowledged that the phone conversation with Mr Trump took place but he has never confirmed any details of it. But at the same time, he has written about Mr Trump’s efforts to pressure him into trying to unlawfully prevent certification of their loss to Mr Biden and Ms Harris, including one conversation in which he berated the then-vice president as “too honest” and warned him that “hundreds of thousands are gonna hate your guts” and “people are gonna think you’re stupid” were he to not try to prevent the counting of electoral votes from swing states won by the Democratic ticket.

He has also written about his actions and feelings that day, when he was forced to flee the Senate chamber as a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol and called for him to be hanged.

In his memoir, So Help Me God, Mr Pence writes that he “just shook [his] head” when he saw Mr Trump’s tweet.

“The truth was, as reckless as the president’s tweet was, I really didn’t have time for it. Rioters were ransacking the Capitol. … The president had decided to be part of the problem. I was determined to be part of the solution. I ignored the tweet and got back to work,” he said.

You condemned these sort of clips from Trump speeches.
Trolling 101: accuse others then do what you accuse them of. It's all part of the act. Now he'll pivot and work on gaslighting everyone he didn't really do that while doubling down on incendiary accusations, and likely some ad hominem and straw men to boot.

Then of course he'll go after me somehow, other accusing me of trolling then going all in on dems wanting to kill everyone.

We do have some committed trolls, I'll give them that.

I'm seeing that there is a lot of oxygen given to trolls around here. I know I've done it, but I really try not to once I realize who the trolls are. It seems like some posters are like troll medics who realize no one is responding to the trolls so they run over and give them a revive with a mega dose of oxygen so that they can keep on trolling. Are they, people like One Brow, doing it on purpose?

I'll let OB speak for himself but he has said in the past he does it for those who might listen to the troll and harbor some of the same thoughts. Speaking truth to falsehoods so to speak, or something to that effect. I've decided that it's better to starve the troll of attention rather than feed them in any way. To each their own I guess. I have the trolls largely on ignore but at this point maybe 70% or more of the interactions in GD center around troll responses in one way or another so there isn't much choice if one wants to participate in the discussions at all. I am somewhat disappointed that we don't really have any right wing folks who can help provide a counterpoint, although there are a couple like @Bucknutz , but otherwise the trolls hold sway on the edge of the lunatic fringe.
