Can Clarkson Return to Form Next Season?

Jordan Clarkson was probably the biggest factor in the Jazz being a mediocre team this year, but I believe he can be better next year and be a positive winning player

Those home splits are still elite 6th man numbers. I'm not sure why Clarkson was so bad on the road this year. I looked back at previous seasons and he's never had that much difference between home vs road in a season. The next closest was the 21/22 season, but for the most part his home vs road splits are within arms reach of each other.

I think going forward with Clarkson you really need to limit his minutes a bit more as a proper 6th man. Hopefully less overall load will lead to more consistent play. Locke said Hardy told Clarkson to focus on playmaking this off-season. If we can get the 5.6 APG on 2.2 TPG type play that he had at home this year off the bench, that would be fantastic.

It would be hard for him to be worse. 22/23 was somewhat of a bounce back year, maybe he can do it again. But he's going to be 32 and nobody would be surprised if he had other priorities in life. His defense is in the tank.

I don't know if he is on the team to start the season, but I would be shocked if he finished the season on the Jazz.

I have very much had my fill of Clarkson. Whether he is good or bad next year I sincerely hope it is on a different team. He is the worst archetype of player to have on a roster like the Jazz have.
I think if he played 24 mpg he would be a great player to have.

I'd still like to have him on the team, but he definitely needs to re-tool his game. I dont think that's out of the cards either.

There's actually some positive indicators for Clarkson moving forward. He averaged a career high in APG and assist percentage. He average the highest FTR of his career since his rookie season. This year he shot the least amount of FGA per minute than he has in his career playing for Utah.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him have a bounce back year but I hope it is with another team though.

Please send all of those positive indicator stats to potential trade partners.

He's going to have to prove it in the first half of the season so DA can flip him.

*though the idea of that happening might be what led to such bad road performances this year*

This where I'm at. I think Clarkson is back next year just because his trade value is likely so low that Ainge won't trade him. For those that don't want him on the team, the best hope is that he plays well enough to be worth something.

I do think there is an ok chance that some team will look past his off year and be willing to trade for him. I'm just not sure on the probability of that happening.

When Brooklyn doesn’t get Donny they send BS for both JCs. We waive BS or send him home.

We should definitely keep Ben as a flyer if we trade for him. No reason not to. What’s the fear, he stays healthy and returns to form?

He’s a distraction and a side quest with limited payoff. I don’t think he’s great to have around. I’m cool giving it a try but I think he’s broken and doesn’t like basketball.

I still have no clue why you see him as a distraction. Like maybe if you’re relying on him to be healthy and win something, but that is obviously not the case here. A guy being injured when you’re not even trying to win is not a distraction.

BKN was trying to win and he wasn’t a distraction. He’s fun to hate on so he might get an extra article when he’s injured, but how is that distracting for anyone? Do twitter memes about Ben Simmons really affect anyone else on the Bets? Is Lonzo or Jon Issac a distraction? I really don’t think so.

Don’t want to put words in anyone’s mouths…but to me the this is just personal dislike. If you don’t want him bc you don’t like him, cool, but I don’t see the problem beyond that.

He gone. JC and JC were two gambles DA took last summer that clearly were disastrous for the team, in terms of unloading either of them without sending added assets.
Conveniently though, we happen to have a Softer Kessler add-in that might bedazzle some team into biting on a deal with us.

What form? He’s played the same his entire career??
