What's new

Devin Booker?

Let's not forget, Ainge created the Boston Celtics core off trades around Paul Pierce, bringing in KG and Allen.

He's not going to be scared to swing a star trade and another big trade out of nowhere if it's available.

Phoenix will move him last. I suspect KD will be the first to jump ship (unfortunately its kind of his thing) unless they can convince Beal to waive his no trade clause.

Say Beal wants out and Suns just want so rotation players to help fill out the roster. Would you do Collins/Clarkson for Beal? 31 next season... 3 years 160M. If he is good and healthy you have a couple pieces to build. If he is hurt you end up tanking but do have a 3 year financial noose.

I think he would only waive the no trade for somewhere he liked a lot but maybe he just wants to get out and prove he is still a good player.

How much does it take to get KD right now?

Not thinking for the Jazz, just wondering what Phoenix's return could look like.

How well is that working out for the suns?
Seriously? The suns didn’t have 3 first round rookies on their roster and other assets and 5-6 other firsts besides their own. The Jazz still would have plenty of assets to build, oh and some cap space where as phoenix had to fill out its roster with minimum contracts. The Jazz wouldn’t have those problems.

I would instead put up a couple more picks, or whatever the cost, for Lavine than go for Beal.
I think you could get him without picks. I think it would be the same package. I prefer Beal as a player but I think him waiving his no trade to be sent to Utah would not happen so...

Maybe....just saying that I much prefer Lavine and even if there is a higher cost, it's probably worth it. They have similar concerns, imo, but Lavine is younger and I find it more realistic that he returns to a higher level he once achieved. If we're looking for a "star" that's a tier down from guys like Booker, I think Lavine is probably the best target given his value appears to be so low.

Yeah and I guess Beal has seemed to have a variety of injuries and Lavine seems to have an issue with one of his knees. I haven't done a deep dive. I think I might be down for a Zach Lavine trade again under the same premise. If he's healthy and good then you found something cheap. If he gets hurt its a stealth tank move. I'm not going beyond Collins/Clarkson and maybe 29 or 32nd pick this year though.

No idea. He would likely pick his destination and there are some rumblings (they are like the wildest of internet rumblings) that maybe he'd look at OKC. You never know with him.

Beal couldnt even create a look against Gobert on the perimeter. Just dont think he has much juice anymore. Can still be a great + starter, but not a primary option.

I wonder how much his value has dropped/will drop if/when they lose this series. He's 35 and showing that you can't give up everything to get him and still expect to win in the playoffs.

His stats are still good though.

If you're the Suns, maybe you get Miles McBride/Randle/Robinson w/ a pick or two for KD? Something along those lines. Bring back a lot of nice depth and some draft capital.

Since the picks the Knicks own are bad I think they'd send 3-4 picks with that package. Their own picks aren't valuable and every pick they have from bad teams is heavily protected.

But yeah they'd be top of the list I'm guessing.

I think so too. On one hand he's 35 and has had disappointing results for two different franchises now. On the other hand just about every team would still love to have him.
It will end up being 50%-75% of what they paid
