Yeah, I dont think you can get unprotected gold for him anymore. Still will be a big package like you said, but it will be big w/ protections. It will end up being 50%-75% of what they paid

Kardashian mom vs Hearsky's mom?If we stick to a no-Kardashians rule our roster will consist of Walker Kessler and a couple G League guys. Might even have to get a new coach.
I don't think we have the type of complementary players that you would want to surround Booker and Lauri with, but obviously it's a lot easier to get those guys vs getting a Booker. If he became available we should definitely go after him, but like you said, we aren't quite ready for that as currently constructed.
No to bealPhoenix will move him last. I suspect KD will be the first to jump ship (unfortunately its kind of his thing) unless they can convince Beal to waive his no trade clause.
Say Beal wants out and Suns just want so rotation players to help fill out the roster. Would you do Collins/Clarkson for Beal? 31 next season... 3 years 160M. If he is good and healthy you have a couple pieces to build. If he is hurt you end up tanking but do have a 3 year financial noose.
I think he would only waive the no trade for somewhere he liked a lot but maybe he just wants to get out and prove he is still a good player.
They are in the playoffs so not too bad.How well is that working out for the suns?
Where did you hear that he refused to workout for the jazz? I've never heard that before.Booker refused to work out for the Jazz the year we drafted Lyles. He'd have to offer some assurance to Jazz FO that he'd play nice before we'd tilt the dump bed up to bring him in
If we suck enough and get Ace or Flagg next season, then I'd be all in. Revisit in 1 year.I love everyone advocating for the trade but nobody is saying what they're trading for him. It's going to take at least 4 1sts and players. Is that really a good idea for a team that was worse than the pistons after deadline? We probabaly lose just about everyone for him and then what? He makes almost 50 million a year and his final year is over 60 million. So it would take sexton, collins, and clarkson + 4 1sts at minimum and we dont even know of lauri wants to stay or leave. It's a pass.
Plus, he would he the last piece to be traded.
The NBA wants him in a big market. You can be really dense. Good business for the NBA is strong teams with established stars in big markets and small markets good enough to make people think they might get a 2nd tier star to keep the playoffs interesting. That's it. And it happens that way, again and again and again and again. Feeding the money machine. He's got 4 years left on his deal, he has no real control.
How did Donovan get to Cleveland then? The NBA wants him in a big market. You can be really dense. You're in the wrong time line. You do this trade AFTER we get the top pick next year and then you pull the trigger. We do not want to be mediocre again next yearOf course it will be uncomfortable. Stars don't want to be in small markets, but you have to take risk at some point. The Jazz can't wait to trade for a star and also wait for a star who is going to want to come to Utah.
Yep. Any big acquisition should be a 2025 conversation when we hopefully have a lot more proven players. If we suck enough and get Ace or Flagg next season, then I'd be all in. Revisit in 1 year.
Well you could try reading the entire OP and see that I said thatYou're in the wrong time line. You do this trade AFTER we get the top pick next year and then you pull the trigger. We do not want to be mediocre again next year
Tier 2 Star. How did Donovan get to Cleveland then?
Donovan had a shoe deal since this roomie year and Book just got one.....Tier 2 Star.
