Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, says it has saved $160 billion through its push to root out wasteful or fraudulent government spending. But that effort may also have come at a cost for taxpayers, with a new analysis from a nonpartisan research and advocacy group estimating that DOGE's actions will cost $135 billion this fiscal year.

The analysis seeks to tally the costs associated with putting tens of thousands of federal employees on paid leave, re-hiring mistakenly fired workers and lost productivity, according to the Partnership for Public Service (PSP), a nonpartisan nonprofit that focuses on the federal workforce.

PSP's estimate is based on the $270 billion in annual compensation costs for the federal workforce, calculating the impact of DOGE's actions, from paid leave to productivity hits. The $135 billion cost to taxpayers doesn't include the expense of defending multiple lawsuits challenging DOGE's actions, nor the impact of estimated lost tax collections due to staff cuts at the IRS.

So if you count the lawsuits and the lost tax collection revenue then DOGE was pretty much a waste.

As Trump's trade war locks the world’s two largest economies on a collision course, America's unnerved allies and partners are cozying up with China to hedge their bets. It comes as Trump's trade push upends a decade of American foreign policy — including his own from his first term — toward rallying the rest of the world to join the United States against China. And it threatens to hand Beijing more leverage in any eventual dialogue with the U.S. administration.

With Trump saying that countries are “kissing my ***” to negotiate trade deals on his terms or risk stiff import taxes, Beijing is reaching out to countries far and near. It portrays itself as a stabilizing force and a predictable trading partner, both to cushion the impact from Trump's tariffs and to forge stronger trade ties outside of the U.S. market.

U.S. companies are warning of higher prices, meaning Trump could face both higher inflation and empty store shelves. The magnitude of the taxes are already dramatically affecting American imports, with the shipping containers set to arrive at the Port of Los Angeles down nearly 36% over the past two weeks, according to Port Optimizer, which tracks vessels.

Then there's Japan: Despite its long-standing enmity towards the nation that once colonized parts of it, the Chinese government has reached out to Tokyo and urged a coordinated response, according to Kyodo News.

China is digging in

China is ready to use the stick, too. A South Korean newspaper has reported that China is demanding South Korean businesses not to ship goods containing China's rare earth minerals to U.S. defense companies or face likely sanctions.

Hal Brands, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, said China will “try to exploit Trump's abrasive behavior to make inroads with U.S. allies and countries in the Global South.”

Some scholars say Beijing is already gaining. “People lost the confidence, or even trust, for the United States, particularly for Donald Trump in the U.S. Not for China,” said Li Cheng, professor of political science at the University of Hong Kong. “So in that regard, China gains in the geopolitical landscape.”

We all knew this was never about savings but about consolidating power into the executive office. And for that it's working very well so far.

That sounds exactly like Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy where there are photos showing hundreds of thousands making signs protesting the governments
Nah. It looks to me like the American people are waking up. You, but of course, want them to remain sound asleep. What on Earth is wrong with you? I cannot honestly predict what will come. But, I can be hopeful for my nation. Why would you want to take that hope away from me? What….on Earth….is wrong with you?!

It is like history is repeating, except everything is completely different and those claiming fascism have no idea what they are talking about.
Baloney….

Red, what he says is completely stupid. Be honest. Have you ever attended a school system in a foreign country? I have. The influences that supposed expert denotes as being the domain of fascism are in the majority of government-funded school systems on the planet.

I find it hilarious that you claim the American people are waking up and posting a reenacted quote from Thomas Jefferson showing we are the same non-fascist place we've been from the very beginning, then scampering right back to the lunacy of insisting we are fascism. We aren't fascism. Your expert is dumb and needs to go get a job at Starbucks instead of poisoning the minds of our youth with his retarded nonsense.

It looks like Trump is the main reason that the liberal party of Canada won. It also seems likely Australia will follow. Trump is pushing the world liberal and based on polls and the few elections since he got into office he is also pushing the USA liberal. That is likely his legacy as an extremely ****** president who pushed the world liberal. He is likely going to be the most damaging president to the republicans by the end. A minority of them that fully support him caused the entire party to loose any credibility for a generation or more.

It's the idiot voters, not Trump. But you know that already.

Canada should have taken the deal to be the 51st state. They are screwed with this guy in charge.

Massive turnaround in voter sentiment 100% based on The Rapist's provocations and threats. Trumptards will spin this but it's another big L for Mango Mussolini.

Another day another backtrack on tariffs. Also in a **** you to The Rapist, Bezos is going to itemize the cost of tariffs on individual items.

The ALP was always in the box seat here but I think undoubtedly Trump has helped the Labor Party. The Liberals were excited by Trumps win and it must be remembered that the party membership of the Liberals is further to the right than the elected MPs. Their base and some of their MPs couldn't help but celebrate the American dictatorship and importantly the widespread parroting on Trump slogans by MP and senior Liberal ministers has damaged them badly.

Its also made Kier Stammer like a statesman in the UK too. The anger the Trump has created throughout the world is staggering, I think it started with his betrayal of Ukraine and then the wholesale economic damage his tariffs have done.

I was just going to post about this.
Trump got big mad that Amazon would show us the true cost of his tariffs so he had a meeting with bezos and now bezos isn't going to be transparent about the tariffs costs any longer.

trump called it a "hostile political act" lol.

So, telling the people the truth - by showing them how much Trump's reckless & dangerous tariffs will have on prices - is considered a "hostile and political act." Wow. There is no limit to Trump's dictatorship ambitions and efforts to stop the public from seeing the impact of his misguided decisions.

Since when is the truth a political act? The government has demanded all taxes and fees be disclosed on many industries. This is a a tax. I deserve the right to know how much I am paying.

Let's see, Amazon has always listed the item price, the cost of shipping and the sales taxes on the purchase. Exactly what is wrong with listing the additional cost of tariffs that the buyer is required to pay?

"I just got off the phone with the president about the Amazon announcement. This is a hostile and political act by Amazon," White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at an April 29 morning briefing with reporters.

After reading about Amazon's reported plans, Trump called Bezos on the morning of April 29 to complain about the move, a senior White House official confirmed to USA TODAY.

The White House had already blasted the second-largest retailer in the United States in what seemed like an escalating battle between Trump and Bezos.

"Why did Amazon do this (now) when the Biden administration hiked inflation to the highest level in four years?" Leavitt said, adding that "it's not really a surprise" because "Amazon has partnered with a Chinese propaganda arm."

Trump has negative approval in all education categories except for "high school or less" we're he's about even. No wonder they're trying to destroy education.

UPS announced they will be laying off 20k employees. We’re going to start to see many more of these announcements. We’re ****ed until we get this clown show out of office. Thanks idiots.
I've seen the response from MAGA in comments sections. The reason UPS is laying people off is NOT the tariffs, it is because Amazon delivers a lot of their own packages now.

Of course, non-cultists are aware that Amazon has been delivering their own packages a lot for the better part of a decade now, but let's be quiet and not disturb the cults feelings, because they have very sensitive feelings.

This actually reminded me of a very old joke.

Guy dies and goes up to heaven. The guy who is at the gate, I forget his name, is showing the new guy around. Here's the tennis courts, here's the fish pond, over there is the hiking trails, there is a movie theatre and bowling alley over that way. But then they pass by a large area surrounded by very high walls. The new guy asks, what's going on in there? His guide shushes him, be quiet, those are the Mormons, they think they're the only ones up here.
