Massive NBA gambling and fixing arrests

Anyone else pretty sure this is politically motivated? The blackest, most liberal major sports league in the US is suddenly under the gun (of a brazenly fascist regime that they widely oppose), but no one else? Speaking of betting, you can bet people involved in sports across the board are involved in betting.

Also, Chauncey wasn’t doing anything NBA-related with his gambling? Do I have this correct?

Hell, people are betting on politics these days. There were betting lines for the last presidential election. Which was probably fixed lol.

Lately on YouTube I’ve been getting served some truly deranged AI generated ads for Kalshi, which essentially lets you bet on future events.

Two of the more annoying “innovations” of the 21st century together at last.

This is what happens when the concept of “infinite growth” starts to reach its inevitable limit. That, and pointless inflation that predictably coincides with increasing market concentration of major firms.

**** this fresh hell.

No, he was passing out info on injury list before it was made public to his co-conspirators.

That was Damon Jones I believe, not Chauncey

I don't trust this US administration, or any other US government, nor the FBI in general (tho I'm a foreigner that don't live in the US, so I definitely ain't fully versed in some of yours intricacies for matters of "some bunch of weird stuff that doesn't feel worthy of wasting my time understanding It"), but I'd have this way more down to how much gambling been a problem not just in sports, but in society all over the globe.

And yeah, from what I read or heard, Chauncey issues doesn't look much NBA related.

I guess what I’m saying is that this, at best, seems like selective enforcement/targeting. I don’t doubt there is underhanded **** going on at all.

Honestly the NBA is the most suspect league I've ever seen, the home cooking for big market teams and players is out of control. Im not surprised players and officials have been sucked into the web of professional bookmarkers. From their perspective, why shouldn't I benefit from the rivers of gold that the league, broadcasters and owners are making off sports betting?

I despise it. These bookmakers carry on like the sport wont exist without them, I remember the controversy over team orders in F1, and bookmakers were jumping up and down about losing money on an arranged result, they carried on like the sport belonged to them.

I don't put It past them (the Trump administration and the FBI, with their current Trump leadership or without these clowns on top), but It isn't much of what I see for that right now. Rozier and Chauncey ain't much of stars or personalities that stand out for their political positions.

Also the NBA for as much "progessive politics" It has among the main american sports leagues, still is a very much curated product produced by white billionares in service of white corporate America, regardless of Trump and FBI.

It is insane that these multimillionaires get tempted to do such things. Just pure greed.
Yes they are effing filthy rich but they show it with their lifestyle and make bad monetary choices. This kind of thing happens all the time. I’ve heard all the stories of gambling that goes on on those team flights and such. Buying loose women, buys fast cars yachts and the lavish lifestyle. I’m surprised we don’t see this more often.

A huge fix would be to make prop betting illegal. Just make betting strictly O/U or money line. Much harder for an individual player to manipulate the game than it is for a bit player to be like "Oh my O/U is 5 points, I'm only going to get 10 minutes tonight and I'm not gonna shoot it, bet the under"
