I don’t think it matters at the moment. I think you keep him, pay him a minimum salary to find out and give him a fair shot at sticking around.
I think if the NBA is moving towards allowing more physical perimeter defense he is. He still has to learn how to not a foul. He's one of those players who plays like 23 seconds of perfect defense then just reaches too much at the end, but if he figures that out (and honestly in the PO they let you play just the way he plays) then he's a player. His G-League scoring/shooting tells me he has the potential to be offensively relevant as long as he can learn to do it on low volume (which can be tough).
Locke on Locked On Today: With the way Harkless has played in SL, Hardy is going to Austin Ainge saying "I want that".
It seems like a given that he will make the roster next season. The question is what kind of contract he will be on. I wouldn’t mind guaranteeing him $4M for two seasons if it means we get two additional non guaranteed years. $8M would be hard to pass up for Harkless.
I would assume it's the Springer/Lofton/Bazley type contract we've been seeing them give out

harkless seems like the perfect dude to fit in that guard rotation with key, collier and clayton.
He was giving Sharpe some issues tonight. He can do it against NBA rotation players. Give this man minutes this season please

One of my favorite things about early season NBA is looking at advanced stats early on and how crazy they are based off small sample size: Eljiah Harkless has a 4.9 DBPM after last night's performance.

Walker’s eFG% is currently at 84.4%.
If he finishes the year shooting 50% from 3 he will be getting a max contract (offer sheet) no brainer.
