This fans dilemma

I hate watching the Jazz lose and dread watching when they win.
A team I have been a solid fan of since 1979. I have trouble cheering for them to lose it just feels wrong. I know they need to lose to retain this years draft pick but I still have problems watching them do so.
What makes this fans life even more difficult is knowing they need to lose makes each victory far less enjoyable than it should be. I no longer look forward to the next Jazz game and only watch if I don't happen to be doing something else. I just hope this draft pick is worth it, if we even wind up getting it.

Just take solace in it's the last year it will happen.

I just want the young players to get a lot of burn and opportunities to make mistakes and grow on offense.

I also want more accountability on defense. The lack of communications and rotations is abysmal.

Ya it sucks. I watch a little less jazz bball than a normal season. (usually I watch 99.9% and this year its more like 85%). I also root for young players to play well and when they do I get joy from it. But I do root for the jazz to lose each game which is a yuck feeling. I think the only game I truly rooted for the jazz to win this season was the 4 point play key three at the end and they actually lost that one lol.

Just 4 more months of this crap hopefully.

I feel ya.

I feel ya I’ve been in the same boat.

Whats worked for me this year was convincing myself what I cheer for has no influence on what actually happens. Simplify, stop worrying about the long term cause that’s someone else’s job to do, and just think about each game in microcosm.

Intellectually in the back of my head I know it’s better if they lose. But it’s funner to cheer for them to win so I do that. I’ve started enjoying watching games again, which I haven’t at all the last two years.

Course this only works if it looks like they are trying. Once the more obvious losing strategies start coming out the illusion shatters and it’s no fun. So far this year though that hasn’t been the case.

I genuinely don’t understand why this losing frustrates fans so much. I assume anyone here that has a Jazzfanz account is a super fan and super into the jazz. What I’m getting at is right after We lost that Dallas Mavericks series the series we absolutely should not have lost with Luka missing half the series getting destroyed By pre-star Jalen Brunson. That entire season was my worst season as a fan watching the jazz for most of it. The team looked lifeless and heartless as if they didn’t care and didn’t like playing with each other which obviously they didn’t right after the series ended. I went on a rant on Jazzfanz saying that the Jazz needed to blow it up When they did it’s the happiest I have been in a long time as a jazz fan.

I think we should all understand the fact that they are in rebuild mode. It does the Jazz no good to win. I’ve enjoyed every second of watching the young guys and seeing them grow in their roles as players in the NBA just think how much of a blast it’s been for me to watch Keyonte do what he’s done so far this year every time I watch him play I feel so giddy inside also seeing the development and the player that ace is eventually going to become hopefully. He’s a shotmaker and once he fills out his body and get stronger, he’s going to be able to get wherever he wants on the court, and no one‘s going to be able to stop him. This is the attitude you should have not hating the fact that the Jazz are losing, but the fact that the Jazz are playing the game, sometimes you have to tear it down to build up better than ever before. That’s what the Jazz are doing and the process is almost over personally I’d like to lose for another year or two but sounds like after this year the Jazz are going to start building the team in the proper way to start winning.

All I can say is there are some definite stars in the draft this year and if we win a few games just to win a few games to say that we’re not tanking and miss out on one of those guys it’ll be a disservice to me and all of the other crazed fans that understand what the jazz are doing, that’s my take on this whole thing. Every time the Jazz lose, I feel warm fuzzies in my heart lol. I probably sound crazy and even to me it sounds crazy to say that I love watching the Jazz lose and revel in it, but every loss brings the Jazz that much closer to a championship.

We win when we win and we win when we lose. I view it as a no-lose situation. With Keyonte's explosion it's already been an awesome season. Sure would be nice to get a top player in the draft but I also hope our players develop and Kessler comes back next year in similar form to when he went down with his injury.

According to advanced stats, Keyonte has improved his offense and is now an average NBA player overall. Congratulations to all involved! Maybe Ace can someday reach the same level.

The tanking has been SO worth it.

I hope the basketball gods bless the jazz this season. We get s top 4 pick.

With Lauri being an all star caliber player. Keyonte still growing into being an all star.

Kessler coming back hopefully better than before. (Yes a 6 million dollar man reference)

Bailey improving into a solid if not better piece. (I STILL BELUEVE)

Hopefully Hendricks growth and Filipowski.

Clayton growing into whatbhe was at Florida

If Collier could learn to be an average 3 point shooter.

The Jazz would be a playoff team as soon as next year.

If they use their cap.space wisely and bring in a solid players that could improve.

I believe.

It's been the case since they started sitting Lauri.
Was that overtime game that took a last second shot by Bane to finish us off not in this time period? Sure looked like they were trying to win it to me.

Might get that way pretty soon but hasn’t seemed like they were just going through the motions to me yet.
