    Lauri re-signs for 5 years 238 million

If this tweet is right, Lauri is taking around $13 million less than his absolute max over the last three years of this deal. In the first two years, he is making a total of $88 million. This leaves $150 million for the last three years. If this is flat, he will be making 29% of the cap in year...

    Does Sexton Get Traded?

We probably still lose most of the games. We will have to run long stretches with 2-3 players on rookie deals will have to share the floor with you few proven guys. I have a hard time seeing a team that will have to play Hendricks, Sensabaugh, George, Williams and Collier serious minutes not...

    Lauri + Tank

We have one all star player in Lauri Markkanen, one decent starter in Collin Sexton and two proven rotation players in John Collins and Jordan Clarkson. Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, Walker Kessler, Brice Sensabaugh, Cody Williams and Isaiah Collier will most likely all see a lot of playing...

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

"League sources said Markkanen’s deal is projected to be worth upwards of $200 million over five years" If the average salary is just over $40 million, this has the potential to be a very good deal for us. If it turns out to be a flat $42 million a year, that woukld only be 22,2% of the...

    Renegotiate John Collins

The CBAFAQ-site still has the old CBA so what I am saying goes by this one. I have not heard about any changes to the R&E-process in the current CBA, but there might be something I have missed. According to CBAFAQ, a four or five year deal can be renegotiated 3 years after it was signed. It...

    Renegotiate John Collins

That is true. We would have to trade JC or someone else to create that space. We could still do a $34/$20 renegotiation, making him cheaper and more tradeable for next season.

    Renegotiate John Collins

It seems like the only move left this off season is to R&E Lauri Markkanen. After this we would still have cap room and instead of using this to sign players we really don`t want, I have this real stupid idea of renegotiating John Collins. John Collins is due to make $26,58 million for the...

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

Absolutely! As a Norwegian Lauri is definitely easy to cheer for. If he is up for a tear down this year with him being the only good vet,I would love that.

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

Do you remember how fun it was when Donovan broke through on his rookie season? How fun it was to root for a contending team built on two guys we discovered? If we cash in now and have a bit of luck, we could be watching a bunch of kiss that we drafted turn into the long time foundation of the...

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

Trading Lauri to the Warriors for a player or two and picks sounds pretty damn good if trading him is the way we want to go. The ideal situation would be to pick up a good player from the Warriors, an OK pick in 2026 and trade a couple of their own picks back for Lauri in 2027, when we should be...

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

... Yes? You are stating the exact reasons for it being a good idea for us to trade Lauri to the Warriors for their future picks. If they want to try to compete for another couple of years, it will cost them a rebuild.

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

Huh? For us it makes all the sense in the world because the reasons you just stated.

    He is at least big.

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

Bridges has two years left, Markkanen has one. A year absolutely makes a difference, but not that much. This picks coming back in a possible Markkanen trade will with 97% certainty be far from as valuable as our own picks the next two years without him on the team will be. The picks the Nets...

Jazz select Cody Williams at pick 10

Being Norwegian makes it pretty hard to watch enough basketball to form my own opinion on most players. I watch maybe 20 Jazz-games a season on League Pass, and absolutely no NCAA or European ball. I do listen pretty religiously to the Dunc`d on podcasts as those guys appeal to my nerdyness...

Best Playoff Outcomes for Jazz Trades

I think we have to look at it from another angle: If OKC fails miserably, will they get desperate and throw everything at us to get Lauri? Will Minnesota do something really stupid, like double down and just keep the same team around, if they get bounced early?

If KAT becomes available should Jazz be interested?

Something like Kessler, Clarkson and Sensabaugh would give them three cheap options while shedding a ton of salary. I guess it would be very hard to sell this to the fans, though, and I am far from sure that I think we should do it.

    Potential Trade Targets

You may very well be right, but it will be so hard for the Timberwolves to trade KAT for a meager return. If they can`t find a team that is willing to give up something very good for them, I can`t see them being able to justify trading him. They have invested so much into KAT that trading him...

    Potential Trade Targets

How about a Kessler for Naz Reid-trade? This trade would really help the Timberwolves financially and we would get a different kind of center to pair with Markkanen and Hendricks in the front court.
