    2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Reading this it occurs to me that Houston is going to have a big salary matching problem if they want to trade for a star. No team trading a star wants 2 more years of Dillon Brooks at 20 million per. That is the only move Houston has.

There is a lot of noise about them wanting Demin too. I think they are happy to see what falls.

I'm not sure I can see a way where the Sixers shed George but somehow keep the 3 pick. That contract has 3 more years on it.

If we draft Tre (which looks pretty likely) I could see value for us to get up to 13 with a trade if the Jazz had someone we really, really liked there. I wouldn't pull that until I see where the board is at 12 though.

He's not a max player, and that is actually attractive to teams. I think he fits in nicely to that Malik Monk slot going forward. That is a good pick at 16.

He's a better player than Dalton Knecht. We have an idea what Dalton's value is and it is more than the 17th pick in the current draft.

Meh, I don't think Kessler was actually ever on the market. If the Jazz wanted him gone, he would have been gone. There were enough teams that wanted what he brought. The Jazz weren't letting him go for even a fair offer. I think he could have been had for a "we can't turn this down" offer, but...

I mean most "draft experts" probably have more life experience as a slow, dumpy white guy than almost any other group in society. Game recognizes game.

Honestly though, my dream is that we traded Lauri to get the #3 pick outright and drafted Tre AND Kon. My thing is that I think I could name a lot of the high level shooters in College drafted in the lottery who didn't pan out. I cannot even begin to name all the folks who needed their "shot to...

You have like 34 games from an 18 year old. That type of sample is useful for telling you what a player CAN do rather than what they absolutely CANNOT do. His handle is OK, he can get above the rim pretty easily. You can pull out individual plays from the year where he does exactly what you want...

If Wolf's shooting pans out. Flip's actually did, Wolf's is just a question mark. Flip has a little of that Memo clutch gene in him too, which is kinda cool.

Meh. the player they are describing that Wolf could be for the Jazz at 21 is EXACTLY the player we currently have in Flip and we know he can actually DO those things.

Washington should take Kon. They need someone with a high floor to go with all of their "Upside Swings."

Meh, I'm OK with an NBA that has fewer 19 year olds. I don't think it is great for the product nor the kids. Most are sent to the G League anyway which is the worst of all the options.

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Yep this is the story, Clips traded SGA and picks for basically Kawaii AND George. There isn't a single person anywhere who wouldn't have traded a young 11th pick player and some picks for 2 all NBA players arguably near their prime. Most importantly, it kept Kawaii from the Lakers so I was happy.
