    John Collins and The Clippers

I have the Clippers as the team that makes the most sense to be calling Wolves to take Randle. As they're trying to win games, It makes way very little sense to target Collins, even as a desperate move.

I don't disagree with that, but I still fear that mindset about the whole "capture the Flagg" (nice name you coined) game.

Still think It's more likely that Collins starts at center with Hendricks as PF than he being paired again with Kessler.

Jazz Future Pick Watch: Minnesota Timberwolves are nearing a trade to send Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo

I think this can make both better, but it's the Wolves job now to get rid of Randle

Jazz Future Pick Watch: Minnesota Timberwolves are nearing a trade to send Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo

Man, I forgot the player option, that contract is even worse considering the risk of another year But I think the natural move for the Wolves is taking anything from a desperate franchise such as the Warriors, Suns, Lakers, Clippers for Randle. Something like a Hachimura, Gabe Vincent and a 2nd.

KAT traded to Knicks - impact on ‘25 pick?

The worst I could see that going for them is Randle tanking their locker room, but they can simply waive him. Still think the most logical path for them is to trade Randle and start Naz Reid.

Jazz Future Pick Watch: Minnesota Timberwolves are nearing a trade to send Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo

That's a curious trade for the Wolves to say the least. Naz Reid become a starter is a simple obvious and natural way to replace KAT that was always there But I doubt Randle would accept revert back to the 6th man role he actually would be a great player instead of the starter Jordan Clarkson...

    Can Lauri learn passing?

I wouldn't bank on that, don't think It seems like something that looks like in a position to become a big and or defining part of his game. Still, it's a tanking season, so they should experiment on things (at least on things that have actual upside, unlike Sochan as PG for the Spurs), as even...

    Jazz Sign Patty Mills

Possibly. Dunno If there's a limit in the league for ded australians players, that could derail the deal

    Jazz Sign Patty Mills

Considering what we saw in the past, the most I'd say minutes wise is that Patty could be there as an extra guy with a different playstyle to Clarkson to be playing out there If George isn't earning his minutes on the court.

    Jazz Sign Patty Mills

Before this signing I wasn't expecting to Collier finding non garbage time minutes at all between Sexton, George, Clarkson and Sensabaugh, as long as all of these were available. I'd be sure that Sexton would start, not so sure about Clarkson or George, but that George would be riding as main PG...

    Jazz Sign Patty Mills

Maybe. Who knows. Not so sure what a Sexton trade would mean to our efforts to get to the salary floor of these later signings

    Jazz Sign Patty Mills

Honestly, as long we be starting Collins - which I believe won't change this season because of his still sizeable contract (next we should trade, dump, or just waive him), what happened to him when he no longer was treated as a centerpiece in Atlanta, and what benching him (even more for kids...

    Jazz Sign Patty Mills

Feels a bit weird adding that another guard to a roster that already has that many and seemed to be looking to shed one or two of them. Either way, we're here for the tanking and he's still a good veteran who not only might contribute with his leadership, but one who also knows a thing or two...

    Proof Donovan was The Issue

I guess they still might be able to get between 2 to 3 picks (light to no protections), no swaps, some quality young piece (like a Jaime Jaquez Jr or Reaves) and/or some decent role player (that also pending on what they get in picks and young players)

    Drafting All Star

Because we're not looking at our future 15th and 41th picks as "lets look how we're getting MVPs and FMVPs out those picks" ?

    Proof Donovan was The Issue

I say thanks for his letting clear he wanted out (thinking he didn't is wild) being done politely behind closed doors, allowing peace for a proper trade scenario where we could take a proper return is something I'll keep thankfull for. He could just be "yeah, go ahead, try convince me to stay...

    Ask me some Jazz questions

Keeping Lauri is as much a foregone conclusion as some think ? Is the front office willingfull to roll the dice to the last year of his contract If they're unable to get an extension this offseason ? Edit: Can be ready for big game hunting also be ready to avoid another Hayward situation and...

    Defense next season

I don't think we'll be good (much less great) defensively next season, as I see we'll be tanking next year, either through extending Lauri (thus having at least another safe year to do so) or trading him (thus sending us for two more years of real hard tanking where we'd be actually gunning for...

Annual Beginning-of-Off-Season Reminder: Don’t Believe a Word Ainge says

We started the year playing Collins as a PF, and THT as the starting PG (and Clarkson as a starter, no rotational minutes for our better defender in Hendricks, few and no guaranteed ones for Simone and Ochai that were the best after). All much more tanking moves than playing Collins as a center...
