Lauri Markkanen Hype & Appreciation Thread

Holy mother. This guy is like a rich man's Dirk.

Woj: Don to the Cavs for Markkanen, Agbaji, Sexton, three unprotected 1sts, two swaps, and a partridge in a pear tree.

I know that everyone is psyched over the picks, but I am starting to warm up to the actual players received, especially those from the Cavs deal.

Wolves or Cavs? During Utah rebuild which team will you be rooting for?

Rooting for the bad teams to win more is probably the right strategy for secondary favorite teams this season.

Wolves or Cavs? During Utah rebuild which team will you be rooting for?

With a season in which the likelihood of Jazz wins is low, it makes sense to have a secondary team. However, it won't be either of these two teams. This may sound blasphemous, but I actually like the Nuggets' roster. Granted, I live in Colorado. The Grizz have a nice squad, as well. Ideally...

    How Good are We?

After looking at the actual players that we have received, I don't think that we are going to be as terrible as people think. I would like to keep Sexton, Markkanen, Agbaji, Vanderbilt, and Kessler long-term out of the traded pieces. I know that we are drooling over the picks, but there is some...

Wolves or Cavs? During Utah rebuild which team will you be rooting for?

Both teams have really good starting lineups, but I'm sure about how good their depth is. Honestly, I would prefer to see Rudy win. However, I could see both teams being good for the next 2-3 years, but the chances of them keeping those cores together long-term may be difficult.

    The Dark Horse: Udoka Azubukie

The real question is how good is Kessler going to be? I'm not sure if our starting center of the future is currently on the roster, though.

Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

I hate to say it, but at this point, I would to just semi-settle on whatever to just get a deal done and get the rebuild rolling. I don't think that prolonging this into the season is a good idea. That includes trading the other vets, as well. TBH, I will still be an ardent fan even if we are...

Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

So, is this ever going to happen? I really don't want this lingering into the regular season.

    On the record...

As has already been mentioned, that season after Stockton/Malone left was one of the most exciting seasons. It's a shame that Kirilenko didn't keep that level of performance and motivation for the remainder of his career. He could have been an all time great.

    Simone Fontecchio Two-year deal

He's still relatively young and promising, so there's no reason that he can't be a piece of the rebuild.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

There is always a lot of risk with hinging your entire future on the potential of one draft pick. That is why it is a great situation to have multiple picks. AKA: The Jazz should accumulate as many picks as possible.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Not gonna lie, I actually love this scenario.

Game Thread Feb 11, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Magic

The announcers made a great point last night. Rudy should be very happy that Whiteside and Dok are playing well. It should keep him fresh. I would like to see more Paschall, though.

    Trade deadline discussion

I hate to say it, but Clarkson needs to go.

If you Replaced Conley with Prime Deron Williams...

Would Would you replace Mitchell or Bogey with Kirilenko? The D would be great, but we would still likely be missing shooting.

If you Replaced Conley with Prime Deron Williams...

Prime D-Will, even though it didn't last very long, was very even with CP3, IMO. He was actually superior when they went head-to-head. I believe that we would be better. However, our defense would still be crap.

    Trade deadline discussion

What's interesting is that the Jazz were bad on offense but good on defense when Rubio was on the team. Now it is the opposite. Ironically, Ricky would actually be a great fit on the current squad over Conley.
