IMHO I think the best possible thing would be to retool around both of them. Unfortunately we have squandered way too many assets over the last several years paying way too much for inadequate or completely wrong players. This leaves us with poor choices. Trade 1 or the other of our best players...
Shaq is actually a perfect type of center for Rudy to play against. As a matter of fact had big old Mark not been sidelined by his back about the same time Shaq started playing, Mark would have shut him down.
It looks to me like it's all he said she said crap. From everything I've seen and read , Don has never said he wanted out, and Rudy came out and indicated pretty plainly that this ultimatum thing is a BS rumor. I think it would be better for most of our psyches to step away from it and see what...
I said nothing about Rudy, you just assumed that. I like Rudy and I like Don they're both really good players. I think the Jazz should trade both and start over.
I think Conley was a good player pick up. The real problem is the Jazz paid way too much for him and then gave him the huge 3yr contract. Both things contributed to where the Jazz wound up.
Until you or I become the owners, we have absolutely no say in who or how the franchise is run. The only say we have is whether or not to support the franchise.
I would not be surprised to see the bulk of this team and Quin back next year. This is the year of our All Star game. The Jazz are going to want to make sure to have at least 1 representative in that game. They may trade Gobert or Mitchell but not both. I think it's highly likely they keep both...
I don't know that Exum counts as the worst pick, The Jazz have had so many. Remember the center they drafted who was arrested for banging on garbage cans and threatening people? He wound up in a mental hospital and didn't even make it through the first half of his rookie season.
He would be movable if he didn't have that huge contract. Moving him will probably require throwing in additional assets and getting little or nothing in return.
