My hot take on what I'd do in the off-season.

I think this is a big/short offseason for Mitchell. Kind of like Jordan's when he was ousted and beat up by Detroit. He can settle and be happy with his points and regular season wins and losing in the first/second round in the playoffs or he can go to work. Rework his body, like Jordan did and...

GS would have to send back money, so you'd be looking at Green/#2 or Wiggins/#2 for Gobert.

My hot take on what I'd do in the off-season.

I showed why that wasn't true. Do I want Rudy at 35+ million per year or Whiteside at 20? Whiteside. That is Rudy's problem. It's not skill. It's pay. He will be too expensive for what he brings. Or he will be mad he isn't scoring enough or making enough and then he becomes VASTLY overpaid if he...

    Conley Benched

I said this to a friend: Conley compared to Rubio the Jazz went: +1 point +1% on three point % -4 assists Wash on PER -1 defensive win share -2.4 defensive box plus/minus Conley hasn't been a significantly better offensive player and a much worse defensive player for Utah than Rubio was.

    Respect for Jamal Murray

I thought after going down 3-1 they'd quit and go home. They were everything I have always wanted Utah to be.

My hot take on what I'd do in the off-season.

Every year, there is a Gobert that pops up and defends like crazy. This year Whiteside had a PER of 25, 15 pts, 13 rebs, 3 blocks. Jokic was 25 PER, 20 pts, 9 rebs and 0.5 blocks. Mitchell Robinson was 10 points, 7 rebs and 2 blocks (23 mins/gm) with a PER of 23. Montrezl Harrell was 23 PER, 19...

My hot take on what I'd do in the off-season.

I like Gobert as a player. But I worry about his limitations on offense, his big contract and does his effort falter if he doesn't get a lot of touches on offense? If I have to choose between Mitchell and Gobert, it's an easy decision and it's not Gobert.

My hot take on what I'd do in the off-season.

I think the biggest problem with Rudy is the problem you have with AK. Elite talents on one end of the floor...the problem is, chicks dig players who score the basketball. You make All Star games by scoring. You get commercials because you score. Rudy wants to score. Like AK, are you going to...

My hot take on what I'd do in the off-season.

I think both are solid, but neither are as good as we like to think they are. Take the Conley trade, for example. Why was this not done a year earlier? How different do Conley and Mitchell get along together if they team up when Conley is THE star and Mitchell is still up and coming, instead of...

My hot take on what I'd do in the off-season.

I thought about this. What about Gobert for Green and #2? Conley/Ball Mitchell Brog/Joe Green Favors I actually don't hate that lineup. Conley/Ball Mitchell Wiggins/Brog/Joe Favors That's a more positionless team...you could do really well or it could go off the rails fast....I dunno.

If GS dangles the #2 pick for Rudy do you laugh them off the phone or listen?

    Players only meeting.

It's crazy the different realities. My whole life I've taught the opposite. That cops aren't there to help, they will only make things worse. Don't talk to them, don't look at them, don't acknowledge them, because if you do, you just give them a reason to harass you. They are there for...

Yeah, anyone who believes antifa (which means anti-fascism, which is what this country stands for) is any sort of organized threat...it either grossly misinformed or willfully ignorant and immediately loses all credibility.

Huh. Weird way to phrase this. "ordinary, good hard working people". So, people who care about racism aren't that? That in order to be a good person, you must not care about a portion of our population who is being unlawfully murdered with no recourse? If this is the silent majority....then...

I agree. The players know that their talking hasn't done much of anything. They also know that the owners usually hold significant political clout and if they hurt the owners, the owners might put political pressure on the politicians they own to make changes. I know the Millers are not cash...

    Players only meeting.

While I agree your ideas sound great, athletes already do a TON of those things and don't get any credit for it. For example, players in California pay just shy of 50% of their income in taxes. The highest non-entertainers pays about 30% effective tax rate. That means they are taxed much higher...

    2019-2020 General NBA thread

To be fair to them, how would many on this board feel if mormons were being shot down in front of their kids? It's a ****ed up situation and no one wants to do anything about it.

Potential additions for next year at SF/PF, PF/C

Going along with this (and I know people will want to argue otherwise) but the reality is this: Mitchell wants to play in New York. The Jazz only have him for a limited time unless there is the small chance they are competing for a title in Mitchell's last year. You can't hamstring yourself in...
