Should the Jazz Punt Game 2?

Yea, but the whole point is to gain better field position. You aren't just giving up on scoring because you decided you don't care about it at the moment. If the nature of Donovan's injury were such that resting five days would bring him back to 100%, but he would be stuck at 70% or lower...

Should the Jazz Punt Game 2?

Probably nothing, but that seems to be the nature of speculative Internet discussions on topics about which no participant has access to first hand information.

Should the Jazz Punt Game 2?

No one is advocating for punting a game for the hell of it. Hell, no one is advocating punting a game at all. However, it's worth considering that it might be easier to win 4 of 5 games with Donovan at 100% than winning 3 of 5 games with Donovan playing on a bum foot, or without him altogether...

Should the Jazz Punt Game 2?

I gotta say, it's amazing how many people are ready to call a 0-2 deficit an odds-based closed case on the series after watching what this team just did in the regular season...

Not saying we should but would you trade Alec Burks for...

You saw how quickly Paul George caught fire, and how impossible that situation becomes. I worry that putting AB on the court is like throwing gasoline out on the court while the Thunder are trying to get him going. Sure, Royce struggled with PG last game, but there isn't a player in the league...

Should the Jazz Punt Game 2?

Donovan is currently listed on the injury report as a gametime decision. This isn't a fantastical discussion of hypothetical scenarios that have no chance of actually happening (don't get me wrong - I enjoy those discussions, too), it's a discussion about an actual scenario, and this discussion...

Should the Jazz Punt Game 2?

I guess if the calculus is Donovan being stuck playing at a max level of 70% over the course of 6 games vs taking game 2 off and then having five games of 100% ability, then it's worth considering. That said, I can't imagine anything is that cut and dry in reality, and I'll be pretty shocked if...

GAME 1: Little Ricky's journey to the playoffs -- Jazz @ Thunder 4/15/18 4:30 pm MST

Charles Barkley's media career is entirely predicated on him being a complete moron who says outrageously absurd things. Apparently there are a substantial number of people who find it entertaining. Anyways, keep that fact in mind when considering his takes.

You know this is a bad argument He did? Last time I checked the Jazz remained losing.

Mostly just kidding around. However, him demanding to be back out on the floor was nice to see, regardless of how anyone else acts.

GAME 1: Little Ricky's journey to the playoffs -- Jazz @ Thunder 4/15/18 4:30 pm MST

In other news, I'll take Donovan's reaction to a sore toe over GHill's all day, every day.

GAME 1: Little Ricky's journey to the playoffs -- Jazz @ Thunder 4/15/18 4:30 pm MST

The problem with just "testing out Burks" to see if he's hot is that, if he's not, he can quickly get you buried in a negative swing. Couple turnovers and poor defensive possessions can add up very, very quickly.

They're custom made by kickstradomis. He's been making a bunch for Donovan, and others.

    Jazz Get 21st Overall Pick

One silver lining about the loss to Portland. Would have been 24 if they won that game.

    Official Round 1 Predictions: Jazz-V-Thunder

I think people are seriously underestimating the impact of the Quin Snyder vs Billy Donovan element in this series. I have a feeling Quin is going to have the Jazz running circles around OKC by game three. Jazz in 6 - Jazz take games one or two, three, five, and six.

Should the Jazz rest starters tonight against GSW?

Well, this is a non question now. The NBA has annouced the table released earlier was incorrect. The Jazz have to win both remaining games to lock up the three seed.

Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

Sure, but you also greatly increase your chances of having to play the Warriors in the first round. If the Jazz win tonight, they guarantee themselves not to play the Warriors in the first round. In my opinion, that's the best possible value you can gain in the playoff race right now.

Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

For sure. My best guess is that they follow that strategy. But the Jazz still have to decide what they're going to do, because it's unlikely Steve Kerr is gonna walk over and tell QS what his gameplan is.

Should the Jazz rest starters tonight against GSW?

If they throw this game, and then don't win at Portland, they could very well end up in the 7 slot. I doubt they want to make that gamble... I also got tickets for the game tonight, so it's pretty hard to be objective.
