Can I add Joe Harris to the list? I was clamoring for him in as a last piece addition in the offseason as well. He got a little more money than I thought (2 years $16 million) but his numbers have been stellar. 13 ppg and 30-50 from the 3 point line on the year.
And keeping our first round pick...
I don't get it either. I was perplexed by it. I thought it was basically a done deal, especially given the contract he signed and that the Jazz probably could've got him for slightly cheaper. I guess maybe we choose Niang/Sefolosha over him.
Not really. Jerebko was a > 40% 3 pt shooter. He sat the bench and we just let him go.
There were 85 players in the NBA last year who shot 39.9% from the 3 or better. I'm also anticipating Allen is taking good, open looks.
Allen does have a nice overall game. I still think he needs to become a > 40% 3 point shooter though. If he can do that, I think he can be a solid player. He sure looks like he has the mechanics to be able to do so.
Jabari signs a 2 year/$30 milion deal and then is traded to the Jazz for Burks, Udoh & Grayson Allen?
Know what's sad? Even if presented with that offer, I think there's 0 chance the Jazz would do it.
The resting of Grayson Allen has been the most stupid thing. He's going to be sitting the bench all next season and will get plenty of opportunities to observe at that point.
IMO if Lindsey gets Bjelica and re-signs Exum to a decent deal, he'll have hit this offseason out of the park. With having maintained big time flexibility next offseason he maximized the team for this upcoming season.
There's no material difference between the Jazz offering $15 million or $18 million for this season. It makes no different in the Jazz salary options other than taking a little more out of their pockets and moving a little more into Favors', keeping him happier on this one year deal. It was a...
This is actually a good deal. The Jazz now get to choose if they want to keep Favors or not next season and they threw him a few extra million for this year that doesn't actually change anything because the Jazz are already over the salary cap.
Part of me kind of hopes to Favors leaves. It might help change the Jazz free agency strategy. This whole, "play it cool" for a few months and then fly to meet the player and spend a few hours trying to convince them to stay after free agency has already started and then crossing our fingers...
They've proven to be in free-agency the last couple years. It was pretty obvious to anyone without blinders that Hayward was gone. The fact that they were so oblivious to it was mind boggling. Someone who is staying doesn't act like Hayward acted. I hate to think where we'd be without Mitchell's...
I'm starting to wonder if the Jazz will even use their mid-level exception this year. Mario Hezonja is signing with the Knicks for 1 year $6.5 million.
