    Conley irrelevant...

I don't think Conley can be even a good scorer in the NBA anymore, so I don't like the idea of him coming off the bench to lead the second unit, since playing with non-starters will only add to his tendency to try to score. At this point, both Clarkson and Mudiay are much more competent at...

All time wasted NBA talents ?

Marvin Williams was drafted second overall and was expected to become an all-star.

All time wasted NBA talents ?

Steve Francis was uber athletic and had a short career, plaged by injuries at the very end, but the fact is that he never developed anything from the moment he was drafted onwards.

All time wasted NBA talents ?

Hurley was severely hurt in a car accident at the beginning of his rookie season: "Team spokesman Travis Stanley said Hurley, 22, had two collapsed lungs, several broken ribs and other head, neck and back injuries." https://www.deseret.com/1993/12/13/19081434/kings-bobby-hurley-critically-injured

Could we be in the title race this year?

I'm not sure that "adding pieces" during the regular season works as well as some people hope. I think a contending team can add one piece and clearly improve. Adding more than that means risking having too many players on the floor that have not mastered yet the offensive and defensive system...

All time wasted NBA talents ?

Isn't too early to regard Fultz as a wasted NBA talent? I do think that he'll never amount to much, but the guy only recently began to play regularly...

All time wasted NBA talents ?

Marcus Camby, who was drafted second overall and had his best scoring season as a rookie (14.8 ppg). I thought, also, that Xavier Henry — drafted 12th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft — was going to become a new Clyde Drexler, due to his size and athleticism.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All time wasted NBA talents ?

Vin Baker, for sure. Also, I think Chris Weber qualifies. He was regarded as "the next big thing" when he was drafted. It is true that he had some injuries throught his career -- even early --, but the fact is that he never really developed his game. For instance, despite being a natural...

    Clarkson vs. Burks

To tell you guys the truth, I don't see many similarities, besides playing the same position. For instance, throught his career, Clarkson always could shoot well from midrange (.438 on shots taken between 10 e 16 feet) and was competent on long 2s (.404 on shots taken between 16 feet and the 3...

Addressing our deficit at power forward

Aminu is only 6'8, which means he is slightly undersized at the 4 -- as Bogdanovic is. He also is not really a good scorer inside, probably due to a combination of lack of size/strenght and post moves. From outside, he has always been inconsistent -- to say the least. From 16 feet to the 3 point...

Game Thread: Jazz @ Clippers 11/3/19 19:00 MST

Well said!!! In the "Jeff Green will be..." thread, I said: "[Green will] not really [be] engaged either offensively or defensively, as usual. That's why, despite being long and really athletic, he averaged, for his career, only 5.4 boards per 36 minutes, to go along with appalling 0.9 steals...

Game Thread - Jazz @ Kings - 8:00 PM MST

I'm not sure people should blame Bogdanovic for Barnes' final lay-up. When the ball was passed to Bjelica, Bogdanovic didn't want to commit to rebounding, since that would mean leaving Barnes completely open. Thus, he hesitated for a blink of an eye, while Bjelica was shooting. At that point, he...

    The Mosque of Bojan Bogdanovic

I noticed Bogdanovic making the sign of the cross near the end of last night's game, so he is clearly a Christian. It seemed like the Catholic sign and not the Orthodox one, but it happened so unexpectedly that I am not 100 percent sure.

    Let's Talk About Rudy

I'm a bit worried about his turnovers. I have watched about half of the Jazz minutes so far this season and Gobert seems to have been called on traveling more often than I remembered from previous seasons.

    Concerning stats or not?

I think Bogdanovic might be moved to the second unit, at least for the first weeks of the season, with Green becoming the starter. By doing that, Snyder would minimize his struggles by not only limiting his playing time but also being able to choose when and against whom he would be inserted...

Insights and what we can take away from the preseason ..

I'm puzzled by your statement, that Mitchell is "ready to take another step ON BOTH sides of the court." On the offensive side, yes. He looked more in control than ever. On the defensive side, though, he doesn't seem to be putting much effort. At least I did not see it. It is preseason, of...

I'm a little worried about Conley

At first, I was thrilled that the Jazz got Conley, especially because he would be a clear upgrade over Rubio, someone who is historically bad at finishing from close range and can't shoot consistently from outside. Conley's game is clearly better rounded and, yet, I'm worried about the...

    Jazz vs. Pels tonight

Zion reminds me of a young Larry Johnson, with more athleticism.
