I really like what the wiz are doing over these last couple drafts. They are taking guys that have great size for their projected positions and should develop into a very good defensive team in a couple years anchored by Bilal at the 3 and Sarr at the 4. Sarr eventually may be better suited at...
The thing for me is that I don't really care as much about him offensively other than the hope that he can develop into a solid spot up 3pt shooter. As a top 10 pick you are hoping for a guy that can create for himself and others offensively but now with Ace the only I want from Cody is 3 and D...
I've gone from having very little hope in Cody to having some optimism that he can thrive in a 3 and D role for us. He was decent last year defensively and seems to be putting in the work to get bigger and stronger. It will probably be at least a couple year process to get to his ideal weight...
The tier 1 of teams that you can pencil in as horrible next year are the jazz, nets and wiz. They will all be terrible from the get go. The good news for us is that we play in the far more difficult conference.
As of now I don't have a tier 2 because I think there is a pretty large gap between...
My big issue is that we constantly wait too long to move players and their value has regressed. We should be shopping a guy like Sexton during the regular seasson when they are rolling. For Sexton that was 2 years ago when he was scorching hot and we clearly weren't in win now mode. For Lauri...
Pg- Clayton Jr
Sg- Cody Williams
Sf- Ace Bailey
Pf- Hendricks
C- Flip
I'm more interested to see this lineup rather than super excited. I think it could mesh well with some time together.
The Jimmy situation was strange for a guy that old. For the most part though we do see these youngsters at least flash some solid potential as a rookie. Particularly high draft picks. The only other 1st rd pick that I can think of that did nothing as a rookie and then turned into a possible...
The west is so stacked right now that even if we tried to win with this current roster it wouldn't matter. I think we are clearly a bottom 3 team in the west with the suns and possibly the Pelicans depending on Zion. Odds are we remove even more talent from our roster though with Sexton and...
There will be plenty of injuries throughout the year that clear minutes and give him an opportunity. Of all the players to see in summer league he is probably outside of Ace the one I'm most interested in watching to see if he can give us a glimmer of hope offensively.
Good point about Hendricks as well. If Ace hits then it simplifies his role to more of an Obi toppin type with more defensive potential. That is a player that I like quite a bit. A bit of a disappointment with a top 10 pick like Cody but can fill an important long term role for us.
I think last night's draft helped simplify Cody's development priorities. When you draft a wing in the top 10 you usually want him to become a shot creator that you can run some offense through but I think now the sole focus is 3 and D. He was beyond awful offensively last year but he doesn't...
Right now we have a serious minutes crunch so we know something has to give. Ace will be force fed minutes and you don't target an older guy like Clayton with the idea of developing him slowly. I think you have to clear at least 48 minutes a night for those 2 not to mention Hendricks coming back...
