Who should we pick at #5?

Well, we already have two young centers and it would be comical to tank the entire season just to add another one. And the rest of them are all below average defenders, which is good. I guess Ainge will probably pick the one with the least defense, so... Tre or Jakucionis?

Oh, so San Antonio became a new Cleveland for conspiracy theorists as a small market team that the NBA is hellbent on flooding with rigged top picks?

One think that the fans of other teams are happy about is "hard to not just point and laugh at Utah lol". Nobody likes shameless tankers.

Why should we care though? It looks like the Jazz will not be relevant in the next 5 years anyway.

Yeah, it is so rigged that this season will probably end with the 7th different team winning championship in 7 years.

I love Flagg to Dallas just for the sake of entertainment and conspiracies.

If the Jazz get the 5th pick or worse in 2026 Ainge is likely gone.

That was the most likely outcome, and that why it was so important to get the worst record.

Hey, we don't have to be computers calculating everything to maximize the Jazz advantage! Don't you have some personal likes and dislikes about other teams?

They are a really solid organization who are doing everything right ( and even developed and gave us Hardy!)... and also I don't feel good about the long-term durability of Wemby.

Everybody is rightly focused on the Jazz - and so do I - but I also have other preferences. I really want SAS, Washington and Chicago to be in the top 4 and I really hope at least two teams leapfrog Philadelphia and they lose their pick.

I know that Flagg is most likely the best possible scenario for the Jazz but, personally, I really want the second pick and Dylan Harper. It was such a long, long time since the Jazz had a confident and productive two-way young guard - and these guys are so much fun to watch. I think that Utah...

Tre would be such a Jazz pick: all scoring, questionable defense and the unimpressive passing. I think that the Jazz as currently constructed is the worst destination for him.

Why the Jazz were so bad defensively?

I don't think I did any analysis at all. I simply asked the question and gave several options to facilitate the discussion. Several posters reiterated that it is mostly due to tanking and playing young players and I pointed out that the defense was bad even when the Jazz were not tanking and...

Why the Jazz were so bad defensively?

What is interesting that throughout the season there was a lot of fussing about the offensive production of each individual player and the team as a whole. And nobody was saying "why bother talking about the lack of passing or the low FG% of this or that guy - we are not trying to win!" I...

Why the Jazz were so bad defensively?

That is simply because the Jazz had all those players and then traded them away/not resigned: NAW, Beasley, Dunn, Agbaji, Olynyk...

Why the Jazz were so bad defensively?

That actually makes a lot of sense. Sexton, JC, and George played a bulk of guard minutes in both 2023-24 and 2024-25, which explains why the Jazz were equally bad in them. Also, late in the 2024-25 season, in February and March Utah started sitting them down and replacing with Collier, Juzang...

Why the Jazz were so bad defensively?

Oh, I finally found the DRTG by month on nba.com. There is some interesting stuff in there. The poll result indicate the tanking and playing young players huge minutes as the main drivers of the Jazz defensive woes. However, in March the Jazz, while playing almost exclusively young players and...

Why do you need to get all personal and catty? You know, people may simply have different opinions and perspectives.
