If the Jazz traded the LAL 2027 pick for the LAL 2026 pick and the Mavs traded the 2029 LAL pick for the 2030 LAL pick then that would open up 4 move able firsts for the Lakers.
Just saying...
If the Jazz and Lakers really wanted to make a deal for Kessler and/or Collins, I think it would...
It is shocking how much teams dont value guys after a tanking season. I would have thought these guys had more value but it really feels like the league has a very short memory when it comes to evaluations.
If a player has an off year they go in the garbage pile I guess.
With all sorts of teams going all in on 2025, Lauri clearly should be more valued than the market is showing. If the market disagrees, then be patient.
If we dont get a Bane-like offer for Lauri then I trust we can recoup his value between now and the trade deadline/next offseason.
I believe in Lauri the player and person even if others dont. He is a great asset and recouping his value won't take much more than letting the guy compete.
Juzang was a plus defender that couldn't score. Then he was a plus scorer that struggled defensively. I think he puts it together next year and he is cheap for 2 additional seasons.
Harkless had good moments. I think Tonje is a stars player until proven otherwise.
Martin for me was a meh...
This feels a bit like the Enes Kanter trade. Gobert got his minutes and the Jazz got better. Addition by subtraction. I dont think Sexton was a Hardy type player.
Sexton played with passion and a drive to win. He was an impressive offensive threat who scored pretty efficiently. For those reasons he was a very easy watch.
Sexton regularly didnt run an offense. His competitive drive was not necessarily contagious. ISO basketball is about my least...
Why do you want to burst my bubbles numberica? I blow one and you pop it. Sad face emoji every time. Lol.
I do see us as a natural trade partner for the Celtics given relationships and expiring contracts and their desire to reduce payroll but what's in it for us?
He could still grow a bit. But he is long and tall and athletic and that's enough for me.
What is far more important is if he can shed the influencers in his corner and can get his head screwed on straight. At times I wonder if his head is about 7000' tall which doesn't help block shots or...
Yeah, i doubt it, but if they want expiring contracts for nothing... it ain't happening. Who in this market is going to drop $8 - $9 million extra in salary to get Anfernee Simons without getting an asset in return.
And we are talking about HUGE money. $80 million is a lot of Cavier and...
This deal saves the Celtics a ridiculous bag. It is probably around $80 million. I would in intrigued by their first and Sexton / Anfernee are similar players.
Swap springer with Juzang or Svi and it still works but it doesn't save the same bag.
I could be talked in to giving them a pick...
I gotta see WCJ play but for me it is:
Collier
Ace
Lauri
Hendricks
Kessler
That is until we trade Lauri for 5 x 1st round picks to the Kings and 2 swaps in a deal everyone is scratching their heads about for a while.
