    2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

I both subscribe to Locke's view + still support shedding Collins. Nurkic / Lauri should be enough of a "veteran presence" there. Wouldn't be mad if we brought in a veteran backup PG, though. Not to actually "play" but just be a grown up in the room with 3 PGs who just got their peach fuzz. As...

    Clarkson finalizing buyout with Jazz

I've always wondered what portion of the remaining $ players get in buyouts. How much are the Jazz paying JC to not play for them next season?

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

This is interesting. His balance / body control does remind of D-Will. Has the same ability to pull up from anyone and square his body towards the rim mid-air.

Day 1 Starting Lineup/depth chart as of right now? I can’t figure it out

100%. Just hoping there's the right # / $ of crappy contracts on a team that's looking to win and thinks JC will help. We'll see I suppose.

    2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Fascinated to see how this JC deal pans out. Looks like we'll have to attach something to get back next to nothing. Still holding out some hope on Collins. IMO someone should value his production, efficiency and age. He's a damn nice player just doesn't fit here at all.

Day 1 Starting Lineup/depth chart as of right now? I can’t figure it out

I think we'll go to extreme depths to move Collins off the roster. Not a guarantee of course but the Sexton move clearly signals we want to be really young and really bad this year. Barring the chance to get true move-the-needle type players.

    Should The Jazz Waive Juzang?

Don’t see what waiving him gains you at this moment. Plus at $2.8m that’s an option that is forever available to us. I would bet the house he has no long-term utility but he’s the perfect fringe rotation player for a young tanking team. You can play him 30 min and not risk that he’ll win you a...

    2025 Free Agency Thread

Big $ to Ayton would be the nail in the Lakers’ coffin. He’s not a winner. Plus I think they’re really looking towards LAL (life after LeBron). That’s fake news tho. All eyes will be on the Jazz in Free Agency.

Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

Pretty meh deal but probably best for us. Gets Sexton out of the backcourt log jam. Nurkic is absolutely useless but we have less of a glut of young guys we need to develop at C. Hopefully next year we won’t even have to “tank” to be complete ***.

Which players are now on the clock ??

The guard rotation will be fascinating. I’m hoping we shed both Sexton and Clarkson - they’re each rotting here at this point. IMO the jury is still out on Keynote. Rookie year? Thought he was a franchise cornerstone (6th-man type). But last year was abysmal. Zero improvement in efficiency...

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

This whole damn story is a nothing burger. The sooner it goes away the better.

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

Loved watching Favors play. So unassuming and just incredible hands / patience on the block. Couldn't faze him.

How Many PPG Does Ace Average in Year 1

I'll go with 19 points on 49 shots a night.

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

The UConn, TX Tech, and Auburn games were a masterclass.

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

Collier is probably a better passer but WCJ is still a playmaker, floor general, and his shooting is worlds better. His college AST #'s were pretty much identical with a much better A / TO ratio. My guess is he looks for his own offense first partly because he was Florida's best offensive weapon...

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

Loved this pick on draft night and liking it even more as I watch more of him. He's just a special offensive player. Elite balance, body control, and pace. No wasted movements. We'll have to figure out how to manage him defensively but I think he's our starting PG this season.

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

I'd be thrilled too if I were them. He's in a spot here to really have the keys handed to him.

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

If any of this is true, and this is a “basketball move,” I’m more perplexed as to why he wouldn’t want to come here? We’re a well-respected staff / front office with a WIDE OPEN roster + path to impact player status. Come here, get developed, post your 20+ PPG, get maxed out, and then go do...

Is Ace Bailey the best draft prospect in Utah Jazz history?

In terms of top-tier upside I'll say probably. Deron Williams was pretty special though. Honorable mention to DeShawn Stevenson. I remember nbadraft.net comped him to Michael Jordan and put out a "mea culpa" like 15 years later, LOL.

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

I'm liking the Payton Pritchard comp more but he does have at least a flare of Dame / Steph in his game. And to be clear, I do think he's a better player than Pritchard was coming out. Better shooter and a twitcher / more explosive athlete. The size / length is an issue. He may get murdered by...
