    Clarkson finalizing buyout with Jazz

I mean subtracting a vet min from a real contract is generally a rounding error though.

Boston and Indy also play in the East. They can just roll with what they have into the play -in with little issue.

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

Just like I can't see Kevin Durrant winning a championship without being carried by a small guard.

It has been obvious since the trade that big men are in more demand than small guards. It might be that Austin Ainge knows the market better than the geniuses at Jazzfanz. Or it could be blind luck, who knows?

I mean the Pacers have been trying to trade him his entire career, I can see how that would be exhasting.

I mean, as a small market team the second apron is awesome. The NBA will start to look more like the NFL parity wise and that is good.

    Clarkson finalizing buyout with Jazz

If you pull someone off waivers you take the entire contract. When a player is signed after clearing waivers the new contract is subtracted from the old contract. But, yes, the cap hit for the old team does not change.

Salt Lake City Summer League: July 5-8 @ Huntsman Center

I hope we don't get 14 minutes a game of that guy "living the dream" and launching up shots.

Utah Jazz Select Ace Bailey, Pick 5

Other than being about the same height, uber athletic, and able to hit the midrange they really don't have similar play styles. Young Rudy played in the post and bullied people with his athleticism. He was never a prolific 3 point shooter (maybe an artifact of the league when he played.) He...

Utah Jazz Select Ace Bailey, Pick 5

Jazz draft a lot of white guys? More than any other team? Jazz have drafted like 4 white guys since Enes Kanter (the last 21 picks that they kept.) This **** is pretty tired.

Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

We are running with a second year pg. That is going to be rough, wins will be hard fought. However, the time has come to prioritize defense and we can't do that with Sexton, Clarkson, and Paper Mache at the Center spot. The Jazz need a proper center when Kessler sits. Just like getting Olynyk...

Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

No, because at that point, playing in the East, they may have 10 games on us in the win column.

Utah Jazz Select Ace Bailey, Pick 5

It is insane to me that a team selected Kon ahead of Ace Bailey. Absolutely insane. It also appears that if someone were to just teach Ace a proper pick and roll, he might even be better than Harper.

Yeah, the Bucks make a lot of sense, good call. I'm just thinking if the bright light of Portland were too much, the Lakers isn't the team for him.

Nurk wasn't the issue in Phoenix, not by a long shot. Phoenix got even worse after he was traded.

Meh, I'm still not convinced that we are worse than the Pelicans. Portland isn't going anywhere either,

Nurk isn't bad. Phoenix had to dump him because they screwed up do badly with the Bradley Beal trade. I'm not sure he's a starter though.

It becomes apparent that the play is to clear salary then sign good players on the cheap because too many teams have run afoul of the apron. The Jazz aren't going to take salary back for a Collins deal.
