Game Thread - Jazz @ Spurs 5 PM MTN

The main thing I want to say about this game is this, either Quin Synder decided he needed some additional hard empirical evidence that running an offense through Royce O'Neale or Jae Crowder is not a good idea, or something went horribly wrong with execution of the game plan. It was not fun...

Dante Exum Averages .2 Steals Per Game

I still think Exum is a bright young talent with tons of potential. The big problem of course is that his basketball IQ has actually turned out to be pretty poor. He looks like he has so much left to learn, but he's already 23 and been in the league for 5 years now. I'm still giving him a...

Utah Jazz vs. Brooklyn Nets 5:30pm MST

Another interesting fact: The Jazz have the best road record (and have played the most games on the road) in the Western Conference, but are 14th out of 15 teams in overall record.

The Jazz now have the 3rd best road record in the NBA.

    Dennis Lindsey's Biggest Error

But it hurts worse that he was picked one slot after us. It's like Bowie/Jordan, Oden/Durant. 28 pts, 10 rebs, 8 assts, 2 stls in 26 minutes tonight. If you've watched the Bucks at all recently you'll know that Giannis is clearly the best player in the NBA right now. Absurd dominance both...

Should have kept Rose and cut Rubio.

This is it, Dante. Your last audition to not be traded.

Feels good to mingle with these laid-back Brooklyn folk.

Okay, but c'mon, that's like saying "As long as we can keep the ball out of Lebron's hands." It amounts to nothing more than a compliment to Mitchell and Ingles (as well as a well-deserved insult to Rubio).

Lol, I haven't been watching the game, but just looked at the box score and saw that. Oh Dante... you showed so many flashes. WTF happened dude?

WOJ: Korver to Jazz for Burks and 2 second rounders

I'm still mad we didn't re-sign him in 2010. Actually, it boggles my mind to this day. He only cost 3/15 at that time. He should have been a Jazz lifer. edit: And who did we replace Korver with? Raja Bell, who was 2 mil cheaper. The same locker room cancer prick Raja Bell who helped drive Jerry...

WOJ: Korver to Jazz for Burks and 2 second rounders

I mentioned earlier that you are absolutely not going to get a star in the 2nd round (well apparently you proved me wrong with Jokic), but there are plenty of solid rotation players to be had. And "advanced scouting". lol. I'm not buying that crap for a second. You aren't going to have 4th round...

We need to just cut O'Neale. Guy is dead weight.

I disagree. Too much of a defensive liability. He'll probably be sub-in/sub-out depending on situation kind of guy.

WOJ: Korver to Jazz for Burks and 2 second rounders

Jeff Hornacek, Paul Millsap, Mehmet Okur, Bryon Russell, Carlos Boozer, Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley, Gordan Giricek, Raja Bell, Donyell Marshall, Mark Eaton, David Benoit, Tyrone Corbin, Mo Williams... all 2nd-rounders or below who were at least decent for us at some point; and that's just...

WOJ: Korver to Jazz for Burks and 2 second rounders

We desperately needed someone to spread the floor when Ingles is on the bench. That's what this move was about. The question is whether 2 2nd-rounders was worth it (Burks was a UFA and below-average NBA player who wasn't coming back, so he's the smallest part of the deal to me).

WOJ: Korver to Jazz for Burks and 2 second rounders

I agree with you that I really, really don't like giving up 2 2nd-rounders here. The Jazz moving assets like they're in win-now mode. If Jazz suddenly go 45-16 over the remainder of the season I guess we won't be complaining so much, but I really don't see that happening.
