I really loved Fears but after watching Ace in 2 games of Summer League, he was the right pick. Ace just offers much more on the court and have more value in today's league. Guys like Sexton and Powell are getting sold for scraps, and Fears will have a tough time elevating above those guys...
Was listening to Locke and he compared Collier's career path to Springer's. I was surprised because Locke is usually pretty positive with his outlooks.
Part of this is I just have higher expectations for 2nd/3rd year guys. I wanted Collier, Brice, and Flip to dominate the competition and show improvement with the issues they had during their rookie years. All 3 have played very good at times yet I come away from these 3 games underwhelmed at...
WCJ had his struggles this game, for sure, but I liked how he moved the ball and the shooting came on later in the game. When WCJ is in, the ball is moving, and he is making moves off ball, screening or cutting, relocating. When he has the ball, he advances it up the court to players ahead...
Man, I agree with you, but you just might lose Collier completely if you start a rookie over him. Then again, that's just basketball. He should have played better if he wanted to secure his starting spot. Regardless, I don't think Hardy has the fortitude to bench Collier and start WCJ from the jump.
It's a big positive that Ace doesn't have to be the #1 focal point and can still make a big impact. The activeness, rebounding, ball handling, and passing are better than I thought they would be. If he can build up his stamina to play 100% all the time, he is going to be a monster.
I agree. From a team perspective, we absolutely need a wing like Ace playing, great size and wingspan, ability to knockdown shots, weakside shotblocking, defense, and great offensive rebounder.
