    Go GET Teague

Word. Teague at the salary he is making for the duration of that contract is just exactly what this team could use without being forced to take a big long term commitment right now.

    Go GET Teague

I think some here don't understand that trading for Teague wouldn't be perceived as THE move, rather as a move in the right direction, to see how this team does with a quality experienced PG at its helm. It's worth having a look and testing it. A trade for Teague might be the difference between...

    Go GET Teague

Let's not be silly, he wouldn't be on the block if he wasn't having a down season, he will just 28 at the end of the season though. And second the whole point is that he is a competent vet who can be the bridge to Exum if Exum pans out or be kept and provide quality PG play for a reasonable cost.

    Go GET Teague

Teague and then maybe second round of the playoffs in 2017, and then maybe Gobert has turned into that monster being forcefed lobs, maybe then because of the team's success better trades can be had because the team's players have more value, perhaps can Teague be let go because he taught Exum...

"Surprised if Teague Doesn't End Up in Utah"

exactly, Exum's size means he could play along Teague, all this gives you flexibility.

"Surprised if Teague Doesn't End Up in Utah"

Exactly, trading for a guy like Teague ensure that the team keeps growing and progressing, that players like Gobert, Hood, Hayward, Exum, Favors and co look in the right direction, learn to play better as a team. What happens next, we don't know, but keeping the growth going is important...

"Surprised if Teague Doesn't End Up in Utah"

Of course because Towns or some other surefire young player isn't a question of "upside" or "potential" that keeps being discussed on boards. What posters keep saying about players like Schroeder is "let's take a chance on player x in the faint hope he turns into a super duper player, this is so...

"Surprised if Teague Doesn't End Up in Utah"

But to grow this team needs to learn how to play better, to have some leadership around, to have players who have seen what playoffs are, etc... upside is great and all (if it materialises btw) but it's not what this team needs. Sure getting a surefire supertar would be great, but piling up...

"Surprised if Teague Doesn't End Up in Utah"

Why on earth would we try to trade for Schroeder while our need is for experience and leadership at the PG position ???? Gee potential always has fans in knots. The jazz is loaded with kids, another one isn't the right move.

    Go GET Teague

Funny because this comes up a lot in conversations about team sport, and I suppose the US system of franchies which is theoretically "egalitarian" means every team can hope to win it all. In Europe if you are from a medium size city, you know your football club has little chances to win it all...

    Go GET Teague

The thing is swinging for the fences means most of the time you fail miserably... While loading up bases carefully gives you more chances to get some runs. There is only 1 team winning it all per year. Sure being that team is the ideal goal, but more realistic and yet still ambitious goal is to...

    Go GET Teague

Same. Is Teague the future Chris Paul ? Of course not, but he is a solid PG, someone who will get the job done, who will get the ball to the right places on time. He is having a bit of a down year and his ankle deserves thorough examination, but he is worth a shot. To those who say "we need to...

    Go GET Teague

They do, to improve !!! You can't just expect to improve in the general carrying of the game without proper PG play, just improvise until suddenly when you are ready you get a good pg and it all fits great... 8ml per for 2 seasons is a great bargain to get moving in the right direction structure...

    Go GET Teague

Maybe, but the issue remains for the Jazz : they desperately need a quality floor general. This is the key issue. You can have Burks and Hood an Hayward being all very good SG/SFs but this doesn't solve the main issue.

    Go GET Teague

If Teague was playing like last year, they wouldn't be testing the waters. Teague has a down-ish season partly because of a lingering ankle issue. That's why he is gettable.

    Go GET Teague

If by middle of the pack you mean about 15th best PG in the NBA, ie middle of the starting PG pack then you are right.. it still means he is better than a good 60ish PGs in the NBA and in the top 20%. Second a "middle of the pack" PG is actually what separates this team from improving more...

Simple as that. So much common sense in this post.

    Go GET Teague

TRading for Teague would make so much sense : - quality experienced leadership at the PG position, something this team has been begging for for a while. - cheap contract, 2 years left, no massive commitment but just what is needed to keep the team going in the righ direction. - Does not stunt...

Jazz vs Pistons tonight 7pm MST

I fully agree. A team grows playing meaningful games.

    Help me

I think what I posted on the PG thread is relevant here : The NBA isn't an easy business. After the All star break last year, for 30 games all was rosy for this team. This year it's hard, there are injuries (let's all remember Exum as well), they are better scouted by opposing teams, etc.. it's...
