We are making the assessment the day after a player is drafted, not in hindsight after they’ve entered their prime years. That’s what makes them a “prospect”.

If the Jazz can’t figure out a way to get Naz Reid pried away (by helping someone else clear requisite space), then this is a great use of space IMO. At best, losing Conley will not make them better, and I’m pretty sure he’s still doing some serious lifting for their culture.

Kas was coming back from injury, is three years younger, bigger, and vastly more skilled on the ball. WCJ is a grinder and clutch, no doubt. As to whether that translates to the NBA level is a big question. Trey Burke was also clutch as all hell and that never mattered.

Trading up to then pass on Kas was galaxy-brain stupid. I’m praying that my takes will look dumb but I just cannot believe what happened. WCJ wasn’t even in consideration for me, would’ve been thrilled if he was there at 43, I guess? Best argument is he would be a good model for Ace of anyone...

We are actually not wildly flush with draft assets at this point. Need to stock up as much as possible as far out as possible.

He has his father’s feet (heavy, but nimble offensively).

I think the best argument for getting WCJ is that his winning mentality/attitude is important in the context of how it might impact Ace’s development, which I believe is the most important thing the Jazz could be working on.

Man, I don’t know. I would’ve drafted Bailey because it felt impossible to pass but he is a turd. I also feel very weird how much I dislike the Clayton trade + pick. Not sure how to grade.
