I've always thought we nailed the Brice pick. And I've been patient and hopeful for the year-3 jump that appears to be upon us. But the defense has been much worse than I anticipated.
I really hope he figures something out, because it's otherwise looking like he could be an incredible weapon.
minor note:
The jazz's perimeter defense looked really soft a lot of the time, and Walt looked like he saw and understood (and was frustrated by) the problems the team was having executing in this facet of the game. I didn't notice him closing out any harder or anything, though.
I've been...
Very good thoughts. I think I agree with you almost entirely.
I picked my starting lineup based more on defensive concepts. I'm hoping that the starting lineup is able to hold its own and punch back on that side of the ball, even if there's a quick sub at the 6-minute mark that's tooled around...
I don't expect this to be the starting lineup, but this is what I would do (if I felt that Hendricks was 100% and relatively rust-free)
Collier
Ace
Hendricks
Lauri
Kessler
Can I ask yall (since I don't watch as often or as closely as I used to)... how off-base is she on Key's defense?
It would be really quick work to make a compilation of Key ball-watching in no-man's land.
I know he's bad, but how bad is he? Like, bottom 10th percentile? Or..?
Size advantages are most impactful on the defensive side—and they get neutered whenever a player has a bad case of ball-watching disease. Keyonte can get that pretty bad.
I'm still betting on Keyonte as a secondary creator. He and Brice are guys that I want catching the ball with some kind of advantage already created—and then they should quickly put their scoring skills to work or know it's better to move the ball instead. That doesnt mean that they shouldn't...
A lot of nuclear-bad turnovers. And bad rebounding.
But!
(1) Gotta love the debut from Ace
(2) Brice can flat-out ****ing score
(3) Hendricks being that comfortable on the perimeter is huge
(4) 9 assists and 0 turnovers from Key is amazing
WCJ doesn't look like he's pushing Collier out of...
Guys, we can't sign Braun as long as Bolerhack is around. The disconnect between the spelling and pronunciation of "Braun" would make Craigy's head cave in.
