Agreed, he even gave up his ballot to deflect some of the heat of upset parties when they lose. Can't blame the guy for being credible and influential, but agreed it's lame
Collier is a hell of an exciting player, and his break out came when games mattered more. Plus he improved his shooting every single month up until April.
But for voters who watched maybe one jazz game this year, and who will just pull up stats, Kyle is the kind of player they'll choose. 7'er...
It's the silliest award/distinction in the NBA (well I guess we have clutch player now), but it is all we have for this cursed season.
I don't think there is a chance they both make it at this point. Collier was getting most of the buzz, but I really think Filipowski has stolen the noise to end...
Honestly, telling the young guys it's the last game of the year and to full court press all game would be fun. He'd probably cook them, but would increase the chance of pissing him off and getting a tech so he has to miss the playin game against Memphis
The Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe Show
Probably the smart move for them, but trying to further set an all-time record at least seems worth playing Cason Wallace and Dort
Was depressingly funny when the Jazz tanked their asses off last year to sink from 10 to 8, and then the #10 team (Atlanta) won the lottery.
I get what you're saying here.
Was at the game, behind the basket for most of Flips dunks. Incredible the turnout and hype the Delta Center still has given this masterpiece of dog **** season.
I know people are upset, but I think this game was a success. Huge confidence game for Flip and he looked like the best Jazz player...
And 7'2" Malauch is still getting top 10 buzz. I know talent evaluators are way more informed than me, I just don't see how he'd be getting buzz if he played for Vanderbilt or something not next to Flagg
Anthony Davis is the only top pick prospect I can think of that won the tournament. KAT was on that amazing Kentucky team that just the championship game. Flagg already had one of the deepest runs for a top pick, at least in the 21st century
The only thing I care about to end the season is big games from Flip and Collier so they can both slip onto 2nd Team All-Rookie. As it stands I think Flip would just miss the cut, but big final games could move the needle.
I know finishing below Washington matters, but a 20% to get 6th instead...
Shai is having one of the strongest MVP cases I have ever followed, which makes it even more crazy that I'll be a little upset when he wins.
Like he deserves it in a vacuum, but Jokic this season is transcendent.
"Collier has boosted his shooting success every month so far, from 31.4% (14.3% on 3-pointers) in November to 45% (31% on 3-pointers) in March." - rookie ladder
If Isaiah can get up to being a 33% 3PT% I will be ecstatic
The Oklahoma City Thunder legitimately piss me off. To have the best point differential in history, while being incredibly young AND setup for the future.
I know they'll have some contacts to juggle when Chet gets off his rookie deal, but it's just insane how perfectly this has come together
