Appears to me Klutch/Sexton wanted Charlotte. He's from that part of the country too (actually Georgia).
Klutch/Clarkson wanted the Knicks.
The Jazz made it happen for them both. That is the most reasonable explanation I can come up with.
There's never any explaining what the Kings do though.
I don't think they have nearly enough minutes for Collins, Lauri, Ace, Hendricks, Cody especially if they promised Ace he would the "the man." Collins will also be playing for a new contract so will need minutes and shots.
Reminds me a bit of the Boston situation where Brad Stevens had to come in and clean up Danny's GM'ing mistakes. Now it's Austin doing the dirty work. Not a slight on Danny we all get old at some point. Heat fans are hoping that Pat Riley steps down in the near future too.
Sounds like he's going to the Knicks per Sarah. They were rumored to like JC for the past year and a half but Ainge Sr never pulled the trigger likely because of optics/not winning the trade is my guess.
Same.
I can see him as a 3rd string shooter on another team. He doesn't offer anything else but that's a nice skill to have as an end of bench guy. Somehow Svi has lasted this long in the league as the same type of player.
I think so. Klutch reps several players on Charlotte including Bridges. Not sure about Lamelo but they definitely rep Lonzo. Rich was busy this weekend with the LeBron option, the Lonzo deal, and Sexton/Nurk trades.
Fairly sure Klutch is the mastermind here especially when you consider both Nurk and Sexton are Klutch clients. They likely believe Charlotte is a better spot for Sexton heading into a contract year. Just my guess though.
Hopefully now they find a spot for Clarkson even if it just means a...
I choose to believe this is part two of the secret trade up with Charlotte allowing the Jazz to pick Ace.
I know AA wants his own guys to get minutes but the Nurkic I saw in Phoenix last season was unplayable.
It's unfortunate but Ainge just got himself in a bad situation trying to do a total...
Welp they don't have to play Nurkic much. He can take the few Eubanks minutes. They obviously don't want to give minutes to the Collins and Sexton vet types. The "tank" continues but with the young kids getting all the minutes. Kinda sucks to give up a pick though.
Pretty sure the Heat would love to dump Rozier.
Wolves are desperate for scoring when Ant goes to the bench. Conley is near washed but could still be a nice mentor for the Jazz young guards.
It sounds like Dennis Schroeder won't be resigned in Detroit so Sexton would be a younger replacement.
