Keyonte was shooting 32% from 3 entering this game mostly on the strength of 2 good shooting games. He shot 1 for 8 from 3 tonight.
He had that very good game against the Bulls but basically only shoots well 1 out of every 5 games. He and Clarkson go a combined 3 for 19 from 3 tonight against...
Either way has it's merits..
Hendricks went to the G League last year after being the #9 pick in a stronger draft. He looked ready to make a jump this season before the injury. No telling if the G League played into that at all or if it was his work in the weight room.
OTOH Jazz have alot...
Agreed Flip is clearly the better player at this point. He's looking like a real steal considering his draft slot.
If they want to "start" Cody and limit his minutes to about 18 that's fine but he might blossom more if he were to play some G League getting heavy minutes where he can be the...
What skills does he possess that would make him a "fringe" All Star? I mean it would be great if that were the case.
He's not shy to shoot off the dribble but he makes those shots at such a low %.
I'm resigned to it being 2 tank seasons unfortunately. Hopefully a miracle happens next offseason but not very optimistic. Ainge pulled off miracles in Boston but Utah is just another animal.
Initially thought they could get lucky draft, someone like Flagg and use their warchest to bring in...
^Agreed. The body language and lack of hustle is a really bad entitled look for a 21 yo kid who hasn't proven anything yet at the NBA level. I tuned in for the 3rd quarter and immediately turned the game off after that play. It's pretty obvious the team has already given up 5 games into the...
I listened to most of it.
When it comes to Collin I agree he would be a great 6th man on a playoff team such as Boston or Dallas. Unfortunately the Jazz do not have 5 good starters. Keyonte is the golden boy so I guess they are going to move heaven and earth to make him look good. Ironically...
I don't have issue with him being the 10th pick in a crap draft based on his size and position. With that said he doesn't have any dog in him at all. He needs to play more aggressive. Hopefully that can change a bit over the next few years.
He has more NBA skills than Cam Reddish.
It seems a bit tinfoil hat but they could try to sign extend him to a MLE type extension next summer if they keep him at 18 mins off the bench. Obviously he wants to win so not sure he'd be down with it after such a blatant tanking season. Hardy has been really hard yanking him around moreso...
He was also a RFA coming off a fairly serious knee surgery and only played a handful of games that season.
Unbelievably nobody had interest in Lauri the year before when he hit RFA which is how Cavs got him on that cheap contract.
I hope DJ Wagner plays up to his HS hype and revives his draft stock. Injuries jipped his Dad out of an NBA career.
The Jazz don't really need another small scoring guard though.
Who would you have picked in the same slots the past 2 drafts? I'm not in the mood to defend Ainge but it's not like he passed on any major difference makers. A few nice prospects got picked just ahead of the Jazz picks. Jaquez and Podz both got drafted after Keyonte but in the big picture...
I see roleplayers but their highest pick was Hendricks at #9. The draft is such a crapshoot especially if you aren't picking in the top half of the lottery. Not to mention outside of Wemby there really weren't superstar ceiling talents available the last 2 years. Occasionally a Donovan...
Cleveland and Minnesota but unfortunately neither looks to be anywhere near lottery tier this coming season.
Jazz also need to finish Bottom 10 to keep their own FRP from conveying to OKC.
