Why do you guys call Harkless a 2-way player? Below are his stats for 2 seasons he has been in the NBA: 2024-25 - 14 MPG, 3 PPG, 31% - 28%, 50% FT. 2025-26 - 12 MPG, 3 PPG, 33% - 25%, 50% FT. He is very good defensively but there is literally no evidence that he is even passable on offense...

But we have to work with what we have. I think that paring Ace with Key+Anderson or with Collier would work really well for him.

I think part of the blame should be put on Hardy. He still did not find any players that he can reliably pair Ace with to multiply their strengths. He did for other players: Cody and Harkless for defense, WCJ with Nurk and, at the end of the games, Keyonte for extraplaymaking... But Ace is still...

To me the most surprising part was the complete lack of any inside game. Ace is a tall and explosive player who is still trying to find his jumper. I expected him in the meantime trying to force his way inside and be aggressive (driving, put-backs, rebounding)... and I was wrong.

There was enough to talk about for many posters (including you) to fill 3 pages before Ace played a second for the Jazz but now there is nothing to talk about after his first five games? That was my whole point.

OK, so this thread went a bit quiet. It's been five games. I looked at the rookies and many are doing really well. Harper, Edgecombe, Knueppel, Johnson, Fears, and Coward are doing great. Colin Murray-Boyles and Demin look at least solid. The only top-11 players drafted that clearly struggle...

Dude, he is 8-28 from the three for the Jazz, at 28%. There is no worse offensive play than a 3-pointer from Harkless.

Hardy likes playing Harkless and Cody together: at least it gives the Jazz a different look. If only Harkless had any semblance of offense...

Harkless would work only in the lineup where he is surrounded by several good and reliable scorers.

Also, when the Jazz stopped settling for desperate set-backs and went to where they should have a clear advantage - spearheading Lauri and Kessler on offense - they immediately stopped the bleeding and started gaining on the Suns.

Clayton was leaving his man on the perimeter wide open 80% of the times. Why does he fancy himself as a great help defender?! Does Walter realize that he is only 6'2" and that the Suns are choke full of good 3-point shooters?

I will be looking for two things this game: 1. Is Ace's mid-range shot for real or did he just get lucky in the last game and his first games better represent the level he is at at the moment? 2. Will Hardy give Cody and/or Harkless some meaningful minutes? Or does he still think that they are...
