Even if it’s just as a backup, I think Flip’s long term role is as a 5. His skill is just so much more valuable. Nothing interesting about him at the 4.
At some point we may have to pay for our quarter season of F’ing around an go to the extremes like DAL did tonight with Davis. Or maybe our young guys are actually just too good to tank. Both are fine. Either way this should have started day 1.
I still think odds at top 4 and keeping the pick...
I thought we might have a B2B or something, but we don’t play until Thursday and there’s no travel lol.
Dec 15th is today, many players became eligible to be traded. Should we be in Nurk trade watch?
I think his defense is definitely worse. Maybe he's had some higher highs on offense this season, but overall he's significantly less efficient than he was his first season here. He did have more talent around him back then though.
Do we really think Lauri has been playing at his best, or is he just playing more minutes? I actually think that his heavier minutes load has dropped his performance on a per/poss basis. He's still playing great, but there's also been moments where he looks a little run down. Numbers certainly...
I'm trying to come up with a creative name for the Ainge pivot. The Ainge pivot is when one of Ryan Smith's dear friends swallows their pride, stops f'ing around and does what he should have done yesterday. I don't know when the Ainge pivot will happen this year. It's already too late, but I do...
Wrt tank commanders, the difference between 1k minutes of Cody and 1k minutes of replacement level (the level you can expect a from a G-League callup) is about 3 wins a season.
Nobody expected them to be an average backup 5 though. Nurk are Love are better than what people considered them to be before the season. Neither is good, and but they were still underrated.
Here's what I would attribute the increased winning to:
- Lauri playing every game and lots of minutes. I wouldn't say this is his best year. Years 1&2 were higher in quality, but he's playing more minutes than ever and that's leading to more W's.
- Key's growth.
- No tank commanders getting...
Carr has no neck, but his wingspan is very long. I think he plays as big as Trey....and Trey is an underrated athlete. Tre is a dunk contest guy and among non-bigs he's second to only Amen in dunks this year. No perfect comparisons of course, but I think he will be more like Trey in the sense...
I think he could be like Trey Murphy. Elite play finisher type of wing and maybe just okay at making self created shots. Both guys can make the tough buckets, but I don't think that's their main game. Carr looks more agile with and without the ball, but he's not as sure of a shooter as Murphy...
Really don't understand this idea of scaling defensive responsibility.
Key has potential to be an offensive engine, which is not something Cason has. But I think Cason is a more impactful player right now. Yes, it is possible for a player to shoot less and be more impactful. The gap in defense...
What other teams are doing is irrelevant to the choice to tank or not tank. Wins and loses count the exact same now versus the end of the year. It does not matter if we're fighting to keep the pick or simply increase our chances at top 4. When lotto day comes, we're going to wish we had more...
Could make the argument that you should go for the rebound regardless. Even the bad offensive rebounding teams see large jumps in OREB% from sending more without much difference in transition shots given up.
The argument that offensive rebounding hurts transition defense is mostly vibes...
TBH, I don't think we can make a definitive statement about how Hardy wants to play defense until we get more talent. Coaches adapt to the talent they have, but we have some of the worst defensive talent in the league.
