To be fair, the question and the AA answer was about affecting win/loss record through manipulating minutes and injuries. So he didnt say he wouldnt tank nor has he said anything about (not) trying to build a competitive roster for next season. He just said he wont do dirty tricks.
I think...
Its a bad look either way. But Sexton has to agree to a buyout but doesnt have to agree to a trade.
I dont know if that was ever discussed with him or if they blindsided him with all this... but if they did then I will grade this trade worse. But I wont hate them for wanting to clear his...
Nurkic eats almost 0 minutes and 0 touches from Ace, WCJ or any of our other young guys. He is comfortably worse than Kessler, so there is no argument that he should ever get minutes over Walker.
I think this is a good observation, which also explains the missing piece that didnt make sense (the negative value of the deal).
It should be 100% obvious the FO wanted to dump him. That deal was so clearly a dump and Charlotte probably did not want him but they didnt want Nurkic either. We...
I think this trade is all about minutes, touches and opening up a rotation spot. Benching Sexton was not an option based on how he has performed, but on the other hand you dont want him eating almost 30 mpg when he obviously isnt building up any trade value and probably isnt a piece for the next...
Its fine AT THIS POINT.
I dont think its fine in the long run, but I also dont think we have great passing/playmaking options. Collier is better in that regard but he doesnt have gravity like WCJ.
Besides if I'm Jazz I wanna push more passing and playmaking out WCJ, Ace and Lauri as I think...
We have had the need to clean house on the score first one way combo guard side of our roster for a while. No way you deny Sexton his minutes if you keep him. Now we got almost 30 mpg and a starter role to give.
I think the key question is why we actually did this deal instead of just cutting...
Im not too worried about high level passers yet. Hardys system emphasizes on the simple read and pass along with ball rotation so WCJ can initiate the offense in that system just fine.
I mean JC and Sexton have done it.
Im surprised no one has the correct answer thus far which is obviously:
WCJ
Ace
Lauri
Hendricks
Kessler
Or then its in the eye of the beholder or smth.
I agree 100%. Our lead guard situation has been horrible, and our 2 guards havent exactly been versatile either.
THT was probably the most versatile of the bunch we've had but his efficiency and shot selection were just bad.
People are thinking this based on "Ace skill and potential", and forgetting team and context. If you believe Clarkson is suddenly gonna turn into a guy who starts deferring to rookies you arent thinking straight.
Cody and Hendricks have gotten like 5-6 FGA without even having to compete for...
