I think if we offer multiple years, including paying him next season when he’s not doing anything but rehab would be pretty appealing, especially if we pitch him as a permanent fixture of the franchise.
The nice part of our young roster construction is that Ace is likely friendly with lots of his teammates and will slide into the team easily- looks very friendly amongst the group in the video...
SG/SF maybe even PF pretty interchangeable with this crew and team philosophy- lots of long players with ball handling skills, even if the passing is mid (other than Flip.) Those seem to me the best 5, so get them on the floor together and see if it works...
1st Team:
PG: Isaiah Collier
SG: Ace Bailey
SF: Lauri Markkanen
PF: Kyle Flipowski
C: Walter Kessler
2nd Team:
PG: Walter Clayton Jr.
SG: Keyonte George
SF: Brice Sensabaugh
PF: Taylor Hendricks
C: Micah Potter
This presumes Collins/Sexton/Clarkson are moved. Would be surprised if we don't...
I hope we stash one or two picks and that frees up a roster spot. Having an elite NBA skill should give you some extra consideration as you work on other skills.
Like I said, a negative in every aspect except the pick. Agree to disagree on whether it made a difference- I don’t think the fans or the league would of let them get away with as egregious a tank as that would of required to get the worst record- still maybe 5th or so, but that could of dropped...
Neutral in being an essential component of getting the worst record. I actually think he was on a very good trajectory and would have won us too many games if he played. Outside of the pick context, yes, we lost an important year of his development, so it is bad otherwise.
