Undrafted players who have been development successes, last five years:
- Ingles
- O'Neale
- Niang (and I thought I'd never say that as recently as six months ago)
Brantley looks promising, too.
That's absolutely not true. The Burke pick was widely cheered. Lyles went exactly about where he was projected to go.
Crap shoots is when you take a flyer on a pick, not when you target a player and pull the strings to trade for them. And it looks like in this case the Jazz were the "every...

DL signs Scrub X.
Scrub X is a scrub; thus doesn't play.

Eh. There are only so many minutes to go around. I'd say the real key is for our starters to start playing better, not for us to have different and not really measurably superior ninth through twelfth men. If Bojan and DM shoot to their career averages we're coasting right now.
These things may not actually be injuries. It's preseason; they want to rotate players in and out and see how guys who won't be playing much in the regular season do.
Danny Green really fell off a cliff last year. He was great in Toronto, but his percentages were ghastly in LA. Are we sure that this was situational, or is the fact that he's 33 now relevant? I'd hope DL would have a good sense of that before we cashed in on him.
We'd be lucky if any of those guys turned out to be as good as Conley, let alone Rudy. This strikes me as shaking things up for the sake of shaking things up.
We're operating in a world with limits. Thad's not great: he's a meh outside shooter and is actually bad enough from the line that I'd be really hesitant having him in close games in the last five minutes. He's also not the rebounder he should be given his size and is not a rim protector at...
I like the idea of Thaddeus Young better than the actual Thaddeus Young. But, caveats 1) I absolutely agree we should be trying to do something with Chicago. 2) Even the actual Thaddeus Young is better than TB and Ed Davis.
Philly loves Thybulle; they're not going to give him up as a throw-in. He's already one of the best wing defenders in the NBA.
And I like Tobias but he's making $40 million in 2024. The Jazz would be him, Rudy, and Donovan and nine minimum salary guys, and Tobias isn't good enough to...
