    Ace Bailey ROY watch

Yeah that’s exactly right. The bar for concern/praise should be different when you have different expectations for players. If Key started playing like a backup PG I’d be concerned. If Collier did the same I’d be pretty excited. That does not mean I think they are the same level of player and...

    Ace Bailey ROY watch

I would not say my concern is Ace improving his FTr over time. I am confident it will. The concern is more about how about how much it will improve and what that means for his chances of being an efficient player. It’s more about where he’ll end up instead of whether or not it improves. PS...

    Ace Bailey ROY watch

I don’t get the sense that he avoids contact because he’s soft….I do get the impression that he avoids contact because that’s what he was taught to do and that’s also what looks cool on highlights. I wouldn’t expect a major shift like this to happen overnight or even during a rookie season. But...

You think people have the same expectations for Ace and Cody?

    Ace Bailey ROY watch

One comparison to make with this low of a FTr is current Mikal Bridges. In his smaller role for NYK the past two seasons he's had a terribly low FTr, but he's able to be a cut above league average because he shoots so well from the floor. 59% from 2FG and 37% from 3. I suppose Ace could get...

share your current thoughts about whether Taylor Hendricks is an NBA player

Not very hard to argue at all. I can say he got better because he started getting consistent minutes which gave him confidence. Same goes for Brice. At the end of the day, the argument for why they got better is "because I said so". The main argument for why he should be playing is...."why...

    Ace Bailey ROY watch

Yup, regardless of whether he's a role player or star, the paths to becoming efficient are 1) More FTA or 2) Becoming an elite shooter.

Flip is the most underrated of our young guys. He's actually an ok-ish backup 5. Horrible PF though.

Why do high level role players not need FTA?

    Ace Bailey ROY watch

A change in role could certainly lend to more FTA, but I think the major issue is that he avoids contact. He's kind of Ayton-esque where his high skill level and ability to get off his shot from anywhere turns into his biggest weakness. He's not stubborn or soft like Ayton, so I think he can be...

    Ace Bailey ROY watch

It’s a major concern and deep rooted issue with how he learned the game. I don’t think the rewriting of his brain can happen until the summer, but it’s clear that we’re starting from square one and tbh there’s not many example of guys changing these habits once in the pros.

share your current thoughts about whether Taylor Hendricks is an NBA player

He’s not been good in his minutes this year, but it’s not like there’s a high standard for minutes in the first place. Unless it’s a health issue, I don’t see the point in benching him. Didn’t see the point in benching Cody or Brice either. I don’t think playing TH is the secret sauce to...

WCJ was a fine prospect at 18. But I’m still upset with not getting Kasparas. That was my guy, and he’s actually not been too bad for MIA.

    2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

IMO, the team that should be most interested in trading for Giannis is HOU. Don't know if he wants to live there though.

    2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

I had thought the Jazz angle on a Giannis trade would be as a third team to receive Bridges/Towns/OG as they would likely need to trade 2/3 to get Giannis. But it seems like POR would be the team to get involved from that angle. They own a lot of MIL’s future draft control. As far as the Jazz...

Skill wise, I see the Kon comparison. I've just learned that Kon's thiccness is not just a meme and actually a great physical gift that we didn't give him credit for. I wouldn't say Wagler's frame is super negative or anything, but Kon's was very positive and I'm going to weigh it more heavily...

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

Adding size/strength is a believable improvement. I guess what I'm saying is he doesn't have the size that Kon did. As I'm watching these NBA games, strength is more important than ever and it's better to be on the thicc side.

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

Wagler’s strength worries me more than his speed. He looks really frail and that will make it hard to make routine plays and defend. Guys add size and strength all the time in the NBA, but I would feel more comfortable if he wasn’t so far behind the curve right now.
