Going on record here: I hate when people call Key a chucker. Let the dude grow and breathe. And we have no idea what Hardy was telling him to force/try.

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

The Cavs had plenty of fight. Pretty hard to overcome the loss of Allen on the defensive side. In the minutes I saw, the Celtics hunted Garland a lot, and there was nobody behind him (Mobley was pretty unimpressive on the defensive side when I was watching). Also pretty hard to overcome all of...

    Proof Donovan was The Issue

ANT is playing pretty awesome defense in key, game-planned situations. The difference between him and Mitchell looks pretty ****ing enormous on that side of the ball… to me at least.

Chet has gotta get on that list. He’d be nasty with Lauri.

    Ask me some Jazz questions

Whatever DL might’ve said with damn mouth, his Cultural Era ended with him and Quin flinging poo at one another.

Best Playoff Outcomes for Jazz Trades

I’m actually not sure what y’all are debating about. I just can’t stand for any judgment that’s based on all-star appearances, so I jumped in. If a set of reliable stats indicate that a player is top-20 or top-30, then that means a lot more, imo.

Best Playoff Outcomes for Jazz Trades

Anybody have any advanced stats on Ingram’s defense? iirc, A few years ago, he graded out pretty miserably.

Rudy had won DPOY and was guiding his team into the playoffs before he was an all star.

    Defense next season

I'm not trying to be pedantic here, but what exactly do you mean by "the story"? For me, the story is generally one about emphasizing offensive development over a period of the season when the team had a full complement of players (as opposed to a tanking complement of players). I'd be curious...

    Defense next season

I didn't have the chance to watch as many games as closely as I'd like to, but I feel pretty confident in saying that if you were to list Hardy's 5 or 6 best moments of offensive genius this year, then you'd probably have to include the system he installed that essentially extended the dunker's...

    Defense next season

Pls don't try to reify some world where "facts" speak for themselves. Which "offense" are you speaking about here? There was clearly an emphasis on developing an offensive repertoire, and the part of the playbook that features Kessler and his skill set was obviously pretty limited — a limitation...

    Defense next season

I disagree. Until he adds the short roll, he's getting about the maximum number of minutes he should ever expect to get.

what we should have done for Rudy.

    Defense next season

Things would improve the second Kessler became a better offensive player (and therefore was able to stay on the floor) Defense can improve dramatically/geometrically with the addition of just one or two players. The fastest route to improvement is more Kessler + a perimeter bulldog
