Listen, I'm not going to die on this hill. If your saying Liam is that much bigger that's fine. Just the impression I got watching the game, I could be wrong on that.
Combine measurements are one thing but when WCJ was guarding Liam, he wasn't outsized. It might be that Liam is more skinny and was hunched over a little or maybe WCJ is a bit thicker but my eyes tell me there isn't that much of a difference. Maybe it was the camera angle or maybe It was just...
Don't think Clayton Jr. is that small or that limited athletically. When guarding Liam McNeely on a few possessions, I thought his size was comparable. He isn't some undersized guard out there. Collier is decent off the dribble but he doesn't have a great variety of moves to go to; I need to...
Think he reminds me a bit of Andrew Wiggins with his habit of being passive. Not that he has Wiggins athleticism but Wiggins also has the tendency to disappear in games.
Is it that simple? I don't know if 3 point shooting is the only thing that Collier is missing. He would still have problems as a player even if he had a good 3 point shot and good FT%.
On the Clayton vs. Collier front. I really like how Clayton plays off ball and how he moves to get open. It creates a nice flow for the offense. Collier is great when it's clicking for him but he constantly goes for homerun passes which leads to loads of turnovers. Just think Clayton is a bit...
Having the physical traits to guard someone and actually being good on defense are 2 different things. I don't know if Collier is good on defense at all.
I don't know what yall are talking about with the last game. He came on late with alot of buckets when the game was tight at the end. If you always look for negatives, you certainly will find them but I thought last game was a good game from Cody. I hope he can carry that end of the game...
I really loved Fears but after watching Ace in 2 games of Summer League, he was the right pick. Ace just offers much more on the court and have more value in today's league. Guys like Sexton and Powell are getting sold for scraps, and Fears will have a tough time elevating above those guys...
Was listening to Locke and he compared Collier's career path to Springer's. I was surprised because Locke is usually pretty positive with his outlooks.
Part of this is I just have higher expectations for 2nd/3rd year guys. I wanted Collier, Brice, and Flip to dominate the competition and show improvement with the issues they had during their rookie years. All 3 have played very good at times yet I come away from these 3 games underwhelmed at...
WCJ had his struggles this game, for sure, but I liked how he moved the ball and the shooting came on later in the game. When WCJ is in, the ball is moving, and he is making moves off ball, screening or cutting, relocating. When he has the ball, he advances it up the court to players ahead...
Man, I agree with you, but you just might lose Collier completely if you start a rookie over him. Then again, that's just basketball. He should have played better if he wanted to secure his starting spot. Regardless, I don't think Hardy has the fortitude to bench Collier and start WCJ from the jump.
