I’d trade a bunch of veterans at the deadline, play the three rookies 20+ minutes a night, move Samanic, Lewis and THT into the rotation, sit Markkanen and Sexton a bunch and sign guys like Kenny Lofton and Darius Bazley off the scrap heap and give them real minutes. Sounds like a solid plan?
I like him. Can see why he’s a fan favorite. Hopefully he sticks around awhile. He’s much more skilled than you’d expect for someone his size. I’d love to see how he does getting some minutes with the Jazz this year.
His shot in this video looks better than I remember it being.
I actually really like the 3 year non-guaranteed contract for these G-league guys.
Give them a change of scenery and an opportunity, and maybe you strike gold. If so, you’ve got a solid young asset on a ridiculously low and...
Bazley is worth a look, but I’m not sure his shooting will ever come around. I kinda want the Jazz to add Mac McClung for the rest of the season - just for entertainment purposes. Is he available?
I agree. I still would’ve taken GG over him. I just thought his upside was ridiculously high and well worth the risk - especially on a late 1st round contract.
I like Sensabaugh, but I was all in on GG last year. Would’ve been an absolute steal for the Jazz. Too bad.
If they end up playing the young guys and dropping down far enough to keep their pick, I hope they consolidate assets to move up and get a guy who can come in and compete for the other...
This whole conversation is stupid. Jazz are still building around Lauri. They hav a solid War chest of assets and added to it by selling guys they clearly did not have in their long term plans. Olynyk and Agbaji are both solid guys, but not essential. I’m fine with DA still looking to add assets...
Hopefully the price comes down a bit as the deadline looms and they try again. Ideally, the Jazz can consolidate Olynyk and THT plus draft assets for a single player that can pair well with Lauri. Would love to see Bridges in Utah. Think he’d be a great fit.
Lauri - combination of him being on the cusp of breaking out as the team’s franchise player, plus him just being so damn likeable. (Plus, he’s a legit 7’ SF - such a rare player to have.)
DA really stole one by nabbing him right before he broke out.
After that, I’d say JC is #2 and #3/4 is...
I remember how preseason last year had me 100% convinced the Jazz were definitely going to be a bottom 3 team - and then the regular season started and they crushed Denver at home before going 10-3 to start the season. I’m not reading into too much until there’s actually something to play for...
I think I actually predicted this at some point. Ainge has a history of bringing his guys back around. An Exhibit 10 / SLC Stars gig sounds about right for Langford. Maybe he does well with a change of scenery.
He’s definitely going to put up huge numbers, but he might be the dumbest talented player I’ve ever seen. Many of the Warriors losses I watched last season were the direct result of putting the ball in his hands late in the game. Thinks he’s Curry, but the man is no Steph Curry.
I’m probably not going to win, but I like how my team is built - it’s how I try to build my teams in real life. A lead guard for the staring lineup and one for the bench, a defensive center and an enforcer to back him up, and then a bunch of wings/forwards to mix and match with.
